‘Raj Kisan Saathi’ Project Wins National CIPS Innovation Award — IT Minister Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore Praises Achievement

Jaipur, Aug 2025 : Rajasthan’s Department of Information Technology and Communication has achieved yet another milestone. The department’s ‘Raj Kisan Saathi’ project has been honored with the prestigious National CIPS Innovation Award 2024. The award was presented by Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, at a ceremony held in Srinagar.

IT and Communication Minister Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore congratulated the team on this achievement, lauded their innovations, and encouraged the integration of advanced technologies in future applications. He stated that the award reflects Rajasthan Government’s commitment to innovation and farmer welfare. “Our aim is to provide all services to farmers and every section of society through a single digital platform—delivered easily, transparently, swiftly, and right at their doorstep,” he said.

Col. Rathore added that Raj Kisan Saathi has set a new benchmark in digital agricultural governance by empowering farmers, reducing human intervention, and ensuring transparent and timely service delivery. Rajasthan has taken pride in becoming the first state in the country to establish a comprehensive technology-driven ecosystem for farmers and stakeholders.

Raj Kisan Saathi: A Revolutionary Step for Farmers

Raj Kisan Saathi is an innovative single-window integrated online portal developed by the Rajasthan Government to implement the concept of “Ease of Doing Farming” on the lines of “Ease of Doing Business.” The portal provides access to over 120 online modules of agriculture and allied departments through a fully paperless and faceless ecosystem—making Rajasthan the first state in India to develop such an integrated structure.

The system enables easy access to Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) schemes, licensing services, quality control, digital advisory, and other services for farmers. It has brought significant benefits, including saving 1,320 tons of paper, a 33-fold increase in DBT payments, real-time application tracking, and reduced fraud through digitization. Innovations like geo-tagged verification, AI/ML-based crop disease management, online licensing, and doorstep seed minikit distribution have further ensured transparency and efficiency in service delivery.

So far, more than 7.3 million farmers have joined the initiative, over ₹3,500 crore has been disbursed through DBT, scholarships worth ₹100 crore have been awarded to more than 58,000 agriculture students, and over 100,000 licenses have been issued. In addition, 110,000+ samples have been tested through the RajAgriQC app, 1,700 capital investments have been supported, and more than 2,500 buyers and sellers have been connected.

The project’s best practices have been featured in DARPG’s ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance’ publication, the CIPS Coffee Table Booklet, and presented at the 28th National Governance Conference. Officials from Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand have also studied the initiative and expressed interest in adopting it.

Raj Kisan Saathi has already won multiple prestigious awards, including the National e-Governance Award 2023–24 (Silver Category), SKOCH Awards, and recognition as a finalist in the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration.
