Tamil Nadu CM Stalin Issues Appointment Orders to 89 Candidates Selected by TNPSC for Group-I Posts
Chennai, Aug 25: Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M.K. Stalin, today (25.08.2025) at the Secretariat, issued appointment orders to 89 candidates who were selected by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) for various posts under Group-I, including Deputy Collectors and Deputy Superintendents of Police.
Over the last four years, through TNPSC, Subordinate Services Recruitment Board, Medical Recruitment Board, and Teachers Recruitment Board, a total of 1,18,050 persons have been given government jobs — 79,940 in different government departments and 38,110 in local bodies and public sector undertakings.
As part of this ongoing effort, appointments were issued today to 89 candidates selected for key Group-I posts, including:
- 15 Deputy Collectors
- 23 Deputy Superintendents of Police
- 14 Assistant Commissioners (Commercial Taxes)
- 21 Deputy Registrars of Cooperative Societies
- 14 Assistant Directors (Rural Development)
- 1 District Employment Officer
- 1 District Officer (Fire and Rescue Services)
As a symbolic gesture, the Hon’ble Chief Minister personally handed over appointment orders to 20 of the newly selected officers. The appointees expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for the opportunity.
Following the Chief Minister’s earlier directive that officers selected for Group-I services should undergo the same Common Foundation Course training as those recruited to All India Services and Union Government posts, this practice has been implemented from last year. Accordingly, the 89 officers appointed today will undergo a Common Foundation Course at the Anna Administrative Staff College, Chennai, starting from September 8.
The event was attended by Hon’ble Minister for Human Resource Management Thirumathi N. Kayalvizhi Selvaraj, Chief Secretary Thiru N. Muruganandam, IAS, Secretary, Department of Human Resource Management Thiru C. Meyyamoorthy, IAS, and other senior officials.
