Timely Completion of 38 New Sub-Station and Power Line Projects in Maharashtra is Essential – Minister of State for Energy Meghna Bordikar
Mumbai, Aug 2025: As Maharashtra progresses towards its goal of becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy, industries, agriculture, and various sectors will require large-scale electricity supply. To meet this demand, the 38 new sub-stations and power line projects being set up by MahaVitaran must be completed on time, stated Minister of State for Energy Smt. Meghna Bordikar.
A review meeting was recently held at the MSEB Holding Company office, Fort, under the chairmanship of Minister Bordikar. The meeting assessed the progress of various sub-station constructions and high-voltage transmission line projects being implemented by MahaVitaran and MahaParikshan. Present at the meeting were Director (Operations) Satish Chavan, Director (Projects) Avinash Nimbalkar, Chief Engineer Mahendra Walke, Chief Engineer (Projects) Sunil Suryawanshi, and Chief Engineer Manik Gutte.
Minister Bordikar said that construction of 38 sub-stations is underway under the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MahaVitaran). These projects will significantly improve power supply and availability in Pune city, Nagpur’s MIHAN Industrial Estate, and various other locations across the state.
Although these projects have already been approved by the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission, several works remain incomplete. Minister Bordikar emphasized the need to speed up administrative processes to ensure their timely completion.
She expressed satisfaction over the completion of projects such as the 132 kV sub-station at Karjgaon in Amravati, the 765 kV sub-station at Shikrapur in Pune, and the 220 kV sub-station at Pachgaon. She also reviewed the pace of work in other projects across Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Amravati, Parbhani, Hingoli, Satara, Pune, and several other districts, while seeking detailed updates on their progress.
