‘India’s Time — Time of the Earth’

Aug 2025 : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will unveil the Vikramaditya Vedic Clock and launch its mobile app at the Chief Minister’s residence on Monday, September 1, at 11 AM. The clock combines the Indian Panchang and traditional timekeeping with modern technology and will be accessible in more than 189 languages. Along with time, it will provide detailed information about Panchang, Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, Vara, Maas, Vrats and festivals.

CM’s Cultural Advisor Shri Ram Tiwari informed that on the Monday morning September 1, college and university students will assemble at ‘Shaurya-Smarak’ on 9 AM. From there, a bike/bus rally titled ‘India’s Time – Time of the Earth’ will proceed to Shyamla Hills police station. After parking the vehicles, the rally will continue as a march up to the CM House. On this occasion, a youth interaction program on the theme ‘Vikramaditya Vedic Clock: A Step towards Restoring India’s Time’ will also be organised, where CM Dr. Yadav will interact directly with the youth.

Providing details about the Vikramaditya Vedic Clock, it was informed that this is the world’s first clock based on Indian time calculation. The system was revived in Ujjain on February 29, 2024, by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, receiving wide appreciation in India and abroad. The clock is an extraordinary blend of Indian tradition, Vedic calculation and scientific vision. It seeks to re-establish India’s glorious timekeeping heritage, balancing tradition with technology, heritage with progress and serving as a symbol of cultural resurgence on the global stage.

The mobile app of the Vikramaditya Vedic Clock incorporates rare information spanning over 7,000 years—from 3179 BCE (The birth of Lord Krishna) and the Mahabharata era to the present—covering Panchang, Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, Karan, Vara, Maas, Vrats and festivals. It provides 30 auspicious and inauspicious Muhurats, with alerts and alarms for religious rituals, fasts, and spiritual practices. The app also provides Vedic time (30-hour format), current Muhurat, GMT and IST, along with sunrise and sunset timings, daily 30 Muhurat details, temperature, wind speed, humidity and weather updates—available in more than 189 global languages.

According to Shri Ram Tiwari, this scientifically enriched and spiritually rooted initiative will give a new global dimension to Indian culture and the ancient tradition of Indian timekeeping.
