Vaccination of Cattle Against Lumpy Disease at Veterinary Camp
Raipur : A veterinary camp was organized by the Animal Husbandry Department to vaccinate livestock against lumpy disease. During the camp, cattle underwent health check-ups, and 120 animals were vaccinated against lumpy disease. Additionally, 30 animals were given deworming treatment, one case of artificial insemination was carried out, and medicines were distributed to 11 animals.
As per the directions of the Collector of Balodabazar-Bhatapara and under the guidance of the Deputy Director of Veterinary Services, the camp was held at the Gothan in village Sarkhor, development block Balodabazar. Dr. Neha Yadav and Shri Janu Jangde from the Mobile Veterinary Unit, along with Dr. Santosh Purena and Shri Hemant Vishwakarma from the Ahilda Veterinary Hospital, conducted health examinations of the animals.
The Deputy Director of Veterinary Services informed that the team from Ahilda Veterinary Hospital has been regularly monitoring the health of the cattle kept at the Sarkhor Gothan. Currently, around 160 cattle are housed there, and the Gram Panchayat has appointed four herdsmen to care for them. These herdsmen graze the cattle for 5–6 hours daily.
The Gram Panchayat has also arranged fodder and water for the cattle. Along with this, the Tehsildar of Lavan inspected the Gothan and reviewed the facilities. He instructed the Sarpanch and herdsmen to ensure proper arrangements for fodder and water for the cattle. The veterinary camp saw active participation from the Sarpanch, veterinarians of the Animal Husbandry Department, and the local herdsmen.
