New Delhi, Sept 2025 : Addressing a press conference held at the party headquarters, Delhi Pradesh President of Aam Aadmi Party Saurabh Bharadwaj said that usually during elections there is speculation about which political party is working to make which party win and which party to defeat. He said that in the 2025 Delhi elections such speculation was being made, that the Congress party was not fighting to win itself but was fighting to make Bharatiya Janata Party win and to make Aam Aadmi Party lose.

He said that among Congress supporters there are many good and intellectual people also, and whenever it is said that Congress was not contesting to win itself, then there is a kind of irritation among those supporters. They are not able to accept this, and through social media and media this irritation comes out. He said that such intellectual Congress supporters think about the country, they care, but whenever such things about Congress come out, they do not accept and express their displeasure.

Saurabh Bharadwaj said that perhaps for the first time in political history it will be proved how in the 2025 Delhi elections, the Delhi unit of Congress party and its office-bearers worked to make Bharatiya Janata Party win.

Referring to the recent interview given by Congress Delhi Pradesh President Devendra Yadav, Saurabh Bharadwaj said, that in this interview it can clearly be seen, how Devendra Yadav with great satisfaction is telling that this time Congress party decided in Delhi that even if Bharatiya Janata Party wins, Aam Aadmi Party must not win.

He said Congress did not make this decision in a hurry. This itself is a very big matter, that Congress was ready in Delhi to make Bharatiya Janata Party win elections.

Saurabh Bharadwaj said that the big question arising in this entire episode is, how did Delhi unit of Congress convince Rahul Gandhi ji, Kharge ji for this. He said often it happens that some state unit of a party does such work, but the surprising thing is that in this case the Delhi unit of Congress talked with Congress party’s top leadership Rahul Gandhi ji, Kharge ji and other big leaders, and from the top leadership also Delhi unit was given open permission that whatever has to be done, Aam Aadmi Party must not be allowed to win in Delhi.

Saurabh Bharadwaj said that in his statement Devendra Yadav is telling how one-by-one leaders of Aam Aadmi Party were targeted and strategies were made against them, how to defeat them. He said it is very surprising that from Devendra Yadav’s mouth it did not come out how they would defeat Parvesh Verma, how they would defeat Rekha Gupta, how they would defeat Ramesh Bidhuri who abused one of Devendra Yadav’s own close MPs. This Congress did not plan.

Saurabh Bharadwaj said that such a disgusting face of Congress was perhaps not even seen in the 1984 riots, as much disgusting face came out in the 2025 Delhi elections. He said I am saying this because today when some poor person’s slum is demolished, when some poor person’s employment is destroyed, then he thinks that if Kejriwal was in Delhi then my slum would not have been demolished, my employment would not have been destroyed.

Presenting figures related to election expenses in the 2025 elections, Saurabh Bharadwaj told that Aam Aadmi Party spent about 14 crore rupees, Bharatiya Janata Party which has governments in maximum states of the country spent about 57 crore rupees, and Congress party spent about 46 crore rupees in the 2025 Delhi elections.

Saurabh Bharadwaj said, that Election Commission has a rule that whatever expenditure happens in the elections, full details must be submitted. Keeping this in mind Congress party said that 44 crore rupees cash donation was collected.

Saurabh Bharadwaj said this itself is very surprising, that Congress party collected 44 crore rupees cash donation. Because according to Election Commission rules, cash donation above ₹2000 cannot be taken. That means to collect 44 crore rupees donation Congress would have to take donation from lakhs of people. For which a big campaign is needed. Work on the ground is needed. But such campaign was not seen on the ground, that Congress was cutting slips for donation, going door to door to ask for donations.

Saurabh Bharadwaj said that when Aam Aadmi Party received one crore rupees through cheque, then Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself in his speech said that Kejriwal got one crore donation in the darkness of night. And today when in broad daylight Congress got 44 crore rupees in cash whose source is not known, then in such case the whole BJP is silent, no investigation is being done into the donation received by Congress.

Saurabh Bharadwaj said, that just as BJP is overpowering regional parties to grab power, Congress feels that by doing such conspiracies with regional parties it too will grab power.

Saurabh Bharadwaj said, that today the purpose of this press conference was to bring before the people of the country and before the intellectual supporters of Congress the real face of Congress. They will now have to think, what is Congress doing?”
