Implement “Seva Fortnight” Effectively under Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Revenue Campaign – Divisional Commissioner Jitendra Papalakar
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Sept 2025 : To provide swift relief to citizens from their day-to-day issues, the revenue administration must become more people-oriented, dynamic, and transparent. With this aim, “Seva Fortnight” will be organized under the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Revenue Campaign from the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi (September 17) to the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi (October 2). Divisional Commissioner Jitendra Papalakar today directed that the “Seva Fortnight” be implemented effectively.
A meeting for planning and effective execution of the campaign was held today at the Divisional Commissioner’s office under the chairmanship of Mr. Papalakar. All District Collectors of the division participated via video conferencing, while Additional Commissioner Khushalsingh Pardeshi and officers from various departments were present at the venue.
Importance of Public Representatives and Participation
The Divisional Commissioner instructed that Members of Parliament, MLAs, Zilla Parishad, Panchayat Samiti, and Gram Panchayat members be actively involved in the campaign to ensure broad public participation. He also emphasized that the District Collectors should give wide publicity to this initiative.
Recognition for Officials and Staff
Mr. Papalakar further stated that officials and staff who achieve remarkable results during the campaign will be felicitated by the District Collector.
Three Phases of the Campaign
- First Phase (Sept 17–22):
- Farm road campaign
- Numbering of farm access and field roads
- Marking roads on village maps
- Registering unrecorded roads
- Obtaining consent letters for access to farm roads
- Organizing “road courts” to settle pending cases
- Measurement and demarcation of farm roads
- Second Phase (Sept 23–27):
- “Housing for All” – distribution of land titles (pattas) to beneficiaries on government land
- Regularization of encroachments
- Utilization of pasture/gairan land in accordance with development plans
- Distribution of land titles to private property holders
- Third Phase (Sept 28–Oct 2):
- Innovative initiatives designed by District Collectors themselves, tailored to local needs and geographical conditions
All talathis, circle officers, tehsildars, and sub-divisional officers of the division were present.
During the meeting, the government’s policy on the use of artificial sand (M-sand) as an alternative to natural sand was also reviewed. Mr. Papalakar highlighted that M-sand is the most suitable substitute for natural sand, and the government has formulated a policy to promote its use.
