No More Risking Lives to Cross Rivers

Chief Minister Approves Construction of Four High-Level Bridges

Raipur, Sept 2025 : Residents of Jashpur district will no longer have to risk their lives to cross rivers, as continuous efforts are being made by Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai to ensure safe and smooth transportation. Road and bridge construction in the district is being carried out at a rapid pace. The Chief Minister has approved ₹13.46 crore for the construction of four major bridges in the district.

For a long time, people had been demanding a high-level bridge with an approach road over the Sri River on the Gulzharia–Bamhni route. During the monsoon season, villagers faced severe difficulties crossing the river. Responding to this need, CM Sai sanctioned ₹3.66 crore for the project. Once completed, this bridge will provide easy access for nearly a dozen villages between Gulzharia and Bamhni to reach the Duldula block headquarters. It will also serve as an alternative connectivity route between Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.

In addition, the Chief Minister approved the construction of three more bridges:

  • ₹1.71 crore for a bridge over Bensari Nala on the Kilkila–Kerakachar road,
  • ₹3.49 crore for a new bridge to replace the old, dilapidated one over the Maini River on the Kansabel–Shabdmunda road,
  • ₹4.60 crore for a new high-level bridge over the Banki River in Jashpur headquarters, replacing the old unsafe structure.

CM Vishnudev Sai emphasized that infrastructure is the foundation of development for any district. He noted that in the past two years, Jashpur has witnessed significant progress in this regard, along with rapid expansion of education, healthcare, and drinking water facilities.
