Chief Minister Eknath Shinde Salutes Kargil War Heroes

Mumbai : Chief Minister Eknath Shinde paid tribute to the heroes of the Kargil war and remembered the six soldiers from Maharashtra who were martyred. Emphasizing the importance of their bravery, he urged everyone to serve the country in some form. On the occasion of the 25th Kargil Victory Day, the Chief Minister reiterated the state government’s commitment to ex-servicemen and their families.

The Chief Minister highlighted several initiatives for the welfare of ex-servicemen. He mentioned the establishment of a corporation for ex-servicemen, a rest house at Kharghar, and various employment opportunities through MESCO to address their wage gap. Plans for a war museum in Mumbai and the development of Apshinge military village in Satara district were also discussed. Additionally, toll exemptions and other important decisions have been made for ex-servicemen.

Chief Minister Shinde stressed the unwavering trust in soldiers during disasters, whether for border protection or internal rescue operations. He acknowledged the invaluable support of the army, air force, and navy in such situations.

He assured that more initiatives will be taken to support the families of brave soldiers, reaffirming Maharashtra’s legacy of self-respect and protection of cultural heritage. The Chief Minister concluded by expressing the government’s commitment to the welfare of soldiers who safeguard the nation’s borders.
