Tonk District In-Charge Minister Reviews Flood Relief Efforts, Orders Immediate Assistance for Affected Families

Jaipur, Sept 2025 : Energy Minister and Tonk District In-Charge Minister Mr. Heera Lal Nagar on Sunday reviewed the situation in flood-affected areas of Tonk and the progress of relief efforts. He emphasized that providing timely assistance to families affected by excessive rainfall is the top priority of the state government. Large-scale relief and rescue operations are being carried out in the affected areas, he said, adding that officials must work in close coordination to effectively address the public’s hardships.

Mr. Nagar directed the Disaster Management, Relief and Civil Protection Department (SDRF) to ensure quality repair and restoration of damaged infrastructure using the ₹370 million (₹37 crore) already allocated to the district. He also instructed District Collector Ms. Kalpana Agrawal to submit additional proposals for other essential assets, ensuring their long-term safety.

The Minister urged the district administration to provide all possible assistance to people with complete sensitivity and to speed up the approval process for compensation to those who suffered economic losses.

Placing special focus on farmers’ crop damage due to heavy rainfall, Mr. Nagar instructed that crop loss assessments (girdawari) be conducted with full transparency and completed quickly. He also ordered the prompt repair of rain-damaged schools, hospitals, and Anganwadi centers. Public Works Department Superintendent Engineer L.L. Meena briefed him on roads damaged by water flow, to which the Minister directed immediate large-scale restoration work once the rain subsides.

During the meeting, District Collector Kalpana Agrawal briefed the Minister on the overall situation in Tonk, giving detailed information about rescue and relief operations in affected areas. She also shared updates on the proposals sent to SDRF and the actions being taken on them.

The review meeting was attended by Devli-Uniara MLA Mr. Rajendra Gurjar, Niwai-Peeplu MLA Mr. Ramsahay Verma, and senior district officials.
