Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Visits Disaster-Affected Village Paunsari in Bageshwar, Assures All Possible Assistance

Sept 2025 : Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Paunsari village in disaster-affected Bageshwar district to meet local residents and inquire about their well-being. The Chief Minister assured the villagers that every possible assistance would be provided, adding that the state government stands firmly with the affected people in this difficult time.

Later, he interacted with disaster-affected villagers at the Government Inter College, Baisani, listening to their problems and concerns.

Chief Minister Dhami reviewed relief efforts being carried out in the affected areas with District Magistrate Ashish Bhatgain. The District Magistrate informed him that on August 29, due to heavy rainfall, five houses in Khaijar Tok, Paunsari were buried under debris. Out of six residents, five were trapped while one was rescued safely. So far, three bodies have been recovered, and the search for the remaining two continues with the help of NDRF, SDRF, Fire Service teams, drones, dog squads, and victim locating cameras. Relief funds have already been distributed to affected families, and all essential services have been restored.

The Chief Minister stated that a proper assessment of the damages will be carried out to expedite the rehabilitation process. He further announced that ₹52 crore has been sanctioned for the repair of the damaged 132 kV substation of Pitkul.

The visit was also attended by MLA Suresh Gadhia, District Panchayat President Shobha Arya, Superintendent of Police Chandrashekhar Ghodke, Divisional Forest Officer Aditya Ratna, Chief Development Officer R.C. Tiwari, Additional District Magistrate N.S. Nabiyal, Sub-Divisional Magistrates Priyanka Rani, Anil Singh Rawat, Lalit Mohan Tiwari, District Disaster Management Officer Shikha Suyal, along with a large number of local representatives, administrative officials, and villagers.
