Vision Document 2047 to Serve as Guiding Principles for State’s Strategic Decisions

Mumbai, Sept 8, 2025: “Just as the Gita, Bible, Quran, and Constitution of Development serve as guiding scriptures, the Vision Document 2047 will be our guiding principles for the future. The state’s policies must be framed in alignment with this vision,” said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today.

A review meeting on the Developed Maharashtra Vision Document 2047 was held at Sahyadri Guest House under the chairmanship of CM Fadnavis. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, along with Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Secretaries of various departments were present. The presentations focused on key sectors such as water, electricity, education, social welfare, industry and services, technology, and economy.

Expressing satisfaction with the presentations, CM Fadnavis said, “The presentations were excellent and deeply thought out. We are on the right path. A roadmap for the next 20–25 years is taking shape. Vision means direction; therefore, our goals and direction must be clearly defined. This should not remain a paper document, but must be implemented on the ground with full capacity. Our policies must be designed in line with this vision. If we consistently work on this vision for the next five years, we will certainly achieve the dream of a Developed Maharashtra by 2047.”

CM Fadnavis further emphasized that the cooperative sector is vital for the state and requires greater focus. He stressed the need for maximum use of information technology for effective governance, speedy development of the BharatNet ring, and collaboration with international firms for cyber security. He expressed confidence that this will emerge as the best vision document in the country. He also urged special attention to enhancing the quality of educational institutions and universities.

Deputy CM Eknath Shinde said, “This vision provides a clear picture of what Maharashtra should look like 22 years from now. It is a roadmap to guide the state in line with future needs. Only by setting big dreams can we move forward. Along with government efforts, the role of administration is crucial. This vision has the power to fulfill people’s expectations, and its main objective is to ensure benefits reach the last person in society.”

The meeting affirmed that the ‘Developed Maharashtra Vision 2047’ is not merely a paper exercise but will be practically implemented to accelerate the state’s growth. Under the guidance of the CM and Deputy CM, this vision is expected to drive Maharashtra’s economic, social, and industrial progress over the next two decades.

During the meeting, sectoral visions were presented for water resources, energy, higher and technical education, school education, skill development, social justice, industry, services, information technology, finance, health, and tourism.
