CM Bhajanlal Sharma Reviews Relief Measures in Flood-Affected Areas

Public Safety Top Priority; Immediate Restoration of Roads, Canals, and Dams; Farmers to Receive Timely Compensation

Jaipur, Sept 2025: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Monday emphasized that the state government is ensuring all possible help to people in flood-affected regions through extensive relief and rescue operations. Chairing a high-level review meeting at the Chief Minister’s Office with district in-charge ministers and secretaries, he said public safety remains the highest priority, and essential services are being rapidly restored.

Sharma directed officials to approve proposals for repairing roads, canals, anicuts, and public buildings within three days and ensure work begins by September 23. Reports on damaged houses, both permanent and temporary, must be submitted within two days for immediate approval. Gram Panchayats were also instructed to promptly forward proposals for damaged infrastructure.

The CM stressed regular monitoring of dams and timely water release to prevent hazards. Officials were instructed to maintain uninterrupted medical services, food supply, and rehabilitation measures, with special vigilance in low-lying and waterlogged areas.

To address crop losses, Sharma announced the formation of a six-member committee comprising ministers and secretaries from agriculture, revenue, and cooperation departments. The committee will ensure swift compensation for farmers, coordinate with insurance companies, and develop advisories. He also emphasized equitable water distribution, groundwater recharge through tube wells, and the need for dam height enhancement and new anicuts.

Additional Chief Secretary Bhaskar Atmaram Sawant informed that during this monsoon, 23 districts recorded excessive rainfall and 17 above-normal rainfall. Over 10,000 restoration works worth ₹211 crore have been sanctioned, and 1,159 people have been safely rescued so far.

The CM also reviewed preparations for the upcoming Cooperative Membership Drive (Oct 2–15), instructing officials to complete groundwork between Sept 9–29. This includes forming new PACS, expanding memberships, linking excluded beneficiaries of PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, and ensuring land allocation for landless PACS.

Additionally, the government will organize Urban Service Camps (Sept 15–Oct 2) and Rural Service Camps (Sept 17–Oct 2) to deliver benefits directly to citizens. Sharma urged wide publicity of entitlements under these camps.

He further directed the preparation of a special action plan for the upcoming Khelo India University Games 2025, to be hosted across seven divisional headquarters.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, Dr. Premchand Bairwa, cabinet ministers, Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, in-charge secretaries, and senior departmental officials.
