Bastar Emerges as a New Hub of Investment, Development, and Trust with ₹52,000 Crore Commitments

Bastar today is emerging as a symbol of the golden morning of development. The region which once struggled with the identity of neglect and deprivation is now becoming a new center of investment, opportunity, and employment. Here in every field—industry, education, health, agriculture and tourism—the echo of inclusive development is being heard. This change is not only changing the picture of Bastar, but also writing the story of a bright future of entire Chhattisgarh.

Rail–Road Projects Will Bring Big Change

To accelerate Bastar’s development, the government has approved rail projects worth ₹5,200 crore. Among these are important works such as the new rail line Raoghat–Jagdalpur (₹3,513.11 crore) and the doubling of KK rail line (Kottavalasa–Kirandul). These projects will not only give new direction to travel, tourism and trade in Bastar, but also create large-scale employment and industrial opportunities for the youth. With better rail connectivity, the efforts of Naxalism eradication will be strengthened and Bastar will emerge as a center of reliable investment and inclusive development. Along with this, road development projects worth ₹2,300 crore have also been approved in Bastar.

Changing Bastar Through Large Public Investment

In Bastar, NMDC is making an investment of ₹43,000 crore and ₹200 crore for the super specialty hospital. These investments are strengthening the basic infrastructure of Bastar.

Private Investment and Inclusive Development

Along with large public investments, about ₹1,000 crore of private investment is also being made in the service sector and MSMEs. This diversified development will increase employment opportunities and ensure inclusive and sustainable development. Altogether with commitments of about ₹52,000 crore, Bastar is becoming the new center of industrial and socio-economic transformation.

Revolution in Health Sector: Bastar Gets First 350-Bed Private Hospital

For the first time in Jagdalpur, a 350-bed multi-specialty private hospital and medical college is going to be established. For this, “Invitation to Invest” letter has been issued to Raipur Stone Clinic Pvt. Ltd. With an investment of ₹550 crore and 200 employment opportunities, this project will give new height to Bastar’s health services and make it a center of medical education.

Additionally, in Jagdalpur another multi-specialty hospital with an investment of ₹33 crore and a 200-bed multi-super specialty hospital with an investment of ₹85 crore by Navbharat Institute of Medical Sciences will be established. These initiatives will not only expand modern health services, but also provide employment to hundreds of youth.

New Beginning in Food Processing

Modern rice mills and food processing units are being established in Bijapur, Narayanpur, Bastar and Kondagaon, by which farmers will get better value and many employment opportunities will be created for local youth.

Agritech and Value Addition

In Narayanpur district, Parshwa Agritech will produce 2,400 tons of parboiled rice annually. With an investment of ₹8 crore and new employment, this project will give a new base of value addition to Bastar’s agricultural produce.

Progress in Wellness and Hospitality Sector

In Jagdalpur, Naman Club & Wellness Center is being established with an investment of ₹7.65 crore and 30 employment opportunities. Similarly, in tourism and hospitality sector, AS Builders & Traders and Celebration Resorts & Hotels will present Bastar’s natural beauty and cultural heritage on the global stage.

Dairy and Agriculture-Based Industries

Bastar Dairy Farm Pvt. Ltd. is investing ₹5.62 crore to accelerate milk production and processing. This will strengthen the rural economy and increase the income of farmers.

Construction Materials and Industrial Development

Companies like PS Bricks and Mahavir Mines & Minerals are entering into brick and stone crusher sector, by which construction activities will be promoted and infrastructure strengthened.

Warehousing, Logistics and Cold Storage

New warehousing centers are being established in Kanker, Bhanupratappur and Kondagaon. Projects like Danteshwari Cold Storage will help to preserve farmers’ produce for a long time, reduce wastage, and increase profits.

Wood, Furniture and Agricultural Machinery

Units like Maa Danteshwari Veneers and Ali Furniture will connect Bastar’s traditional craftsmanship with modern markets.

Entry of Modern Industries

Shankara Latex Industries will establish a surgical gloves manufacturing unit with an investment of ₹40 crore, creating 150 employment opportunities. This is an important step in the direction of India’s health self-reliance.

Support under PMFME Scheme

Under PMFME scheme, beneficiaries of Kanker, Bastar and Kondagaon districts were provided financial assistance. Mr. Mukesh Khatwani (M/s Rudra Foods & Beverages) of Kanker district received ₹35 lakh, Mrs. Yogita Wankhede (M/s Maa Grih Udyog) of Bastar district received ₹5 lakh, and Mrs. Ragini Jaiswal (M/s Fitness Fuel) of Kondagaon district received approvals of ₹5 lakh and ₹9.50 lakh. Altogether, assistance of more than ₹49.50 lakh was given under the scheme.

Empowerment through PMEGP Scheme

Under PMEGP scheme, Mr. Harish Komra (Ready-made Garments – ₹9 lakh), Mr. Suresh Baghel (Harvester – ₹20 lakh), Mr. Chandrashekhar Das (M/s Diksha Tent House – ₹8.80 lakh) and Mr. Revendra Rana (M/s Rana Mobile Repairing – ₹7.50 lakh) of Bastar district were given assistance. At the same time, Mr. Suresh Kumar Devangan (M/s Kisan Mitan Agro) of Kondagaon district was sanctioned a grant of ₹50 lakh for tractor-trolley manufacturing. Thus, ₹94.50 lakh was distributed under the scheme.

New Opportunities Through Industrial Policy

Under the state government’s industrial policy, subsidy was also given for permanent capital investment. Mrs. Sadhana Sharma (M/s Mahavir Warehouse) of Kanker district received approval of ₹90 lakh for warehouse establishment.

Through these initiatives, entrepreneurship and industrial development in Bastar division are gaining momentum and local youth and women are getting opportunities of employment and self-reliance.

Altogether, till now, investment proposals of more than ₹967 crore have come in Bastar, from which more than 2100 people will get direct benefit.
