Hyundai Urged to Increase Investments and Boost Employment in Maharashtra: CM Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai, Sept 2025 : Hyundai is a leading name in the automobile industry, and the company has already made significant investments in Maharashtra. With its Pune project set to enhance vehicle production, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has urged Hyundai to expand its investments in the state’s automobile sector and contribute further to employment generation. He made this appeal during a meeting with a Hyundai delegation at Varsha, his official residence.

Hyundai’s Managing Director, Unsoo Kim, called on CM Fadnavis. The meeting was also attended by Additional Chief Secretary to the CM Ashwini Bhide, Industries Secretary Dr. P. Anbalagan, the CM’s Investment Advisor Kaustubh Dhavse, Executive Director Jeongjik Lee, Vice President (Finance) Saravanan T., Assistant Vice President Puneet Anand, Karthik L., and Senior Manager Vinod Bansode.

CM Fadnavis highlighted that Hyundai is contributing ₹56 crore under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives for various projects in the state. He praised this effort, noting that the initiatives funded through CSR would serve as a model for others. He emphasized that Hyundai should also focus on environmental conservation, road safety, and driver training under CSR. The CM reiterated the state government’s commitment to fostering an industry-friendly environment and extending full cooperation to businesses.

During the meeting, Hyundai officials gave a presentation on the company’s investment plans and provided details of the Pune project. On this occasion, CM Fadnavis also launched Hyundai’s CSR initiatives in Pune district, including a tree plantation drive at Talegaon and road safety programs.
