“MLA Maithani Threatens: Bulldozers and Operators Will Be Pushed into Canal”
A notice has been issued by the government for the demolition of illegal settlements in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Upon learning about this, Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Surendra Maithani intervened, visiting the area to address the residents and confront the officials. He personally tore down the notices posted on the houses and issued a stern warning to the authorities.
MLA Maithani, addressing the community, declared, “If a bulldozer comes here, both the bulldozer and those who operate it will be pushed into the canal.” He criticized the officials for their actions and expressed his dissatisfaction with the government’s approach, saying, “While Modi ji and Yogi ji are providing homes to people, you are threatening to destroy them. Do you have the courage to face me?”
The MLA further asserted that he would not allow any demolition activity, emphasizing that if anyone attempted to bring a bulldozer to the settlement, it would face serious consequences. “I’m telling you clearly—no bulldozers should come here. I’ve instructed everyone to ignore these notices. If anyone attempts to touch this area, they’ll face severe repercussions,” he warned.
Maithani expressed his frustration over the treatment of long-time residents, saying, “These people have lived here for 40 years. Modi ji and Yogi ji are working to provide housing, but you want to destroy these homes. We are working to improve local infrastructure, and any disruption will be met with strong resistance.”
He concluded by making it clear that he would personally ensure the protection of his constituency. “Inform your superiors that I will not tolerate this injustice. The notices should be canceled, and no further action should be taken against these settlements.”
