Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s Ideals Remain Relevant Today, Says Chief Minister

New Delhi, Sept 2025 : Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening education and providing students with the resources they need at the birth anniversary of nationalist thinker Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay and the foundation day of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay College in Dwarka. She noted that his principle of “development reaching the last person” remains highly relevant today.

Addressing College Challenges and Ensuring Growth

The Chief Minister acknowledged challenges such as vacant seats, maintenance issues, and delayed teacher salaries left unresolved by previous governments. She assured that her administration is working to remove financial and administrative hurdles to ensure college growth. She urged students to excel academically while carrying India’s dignity globally and contributing to a prosperous, self-reliant nation.

Expanding Faculty, Courses, and Infrastructure

Her government is continuously working to make Delhi a hub of education by increasing faculty, expanding course offerings, raising college seats, developing modern facilities, and ensuring essential resources. The Chief Minister reaffirmed the commitment to provide education meeting international standards and preparing students for future challenges.

Boosting Technology and Practical Learning

In line with these efforts, the Chief Minister inaugurated several new projects at the college, including 220 desktops, 17 smart boards in laboratories, an Aquaculture Skill Development Centre, and a Mushroom Cultivation Facility. The Chief Minister said these initiatives will provide students with access to modern technology and world-class opportunities, inspiring them not only in contemporary education but also in research and innovation. The newly established smart boards, computer labs, and research facilities are designed to encourage students to explore new ideas, develop technical skills, and engage in practical learning.

Nurturing Values, Patriotism, and Service

She stressed Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s ideals, noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi works in the same spirit. Students were encouraged to embrace patriotism, service, and moral responsibility. The Chief Minister highlighted that inclusive development, addressing the needs of all societal sections including the poor, middle class, youth, and women is essential for the progress of the state.
