Kolasib PM Awas Mela – Urban and Public Welfare Street Campaign Conducted

Kolasib, Sept 2025: The District Urban & Poverty Alleviation Department, Kolasib, organized a street campaign in Venglai Bazar and Banglakawn Bazar under the PM Awas Mela (Urban Housing Initiative) and PM SVANidhi (Loans for Street Vendors) schemes.

During the campaign, Ms. Josephine Zonunsangi, DUDO, UD&PA Department, Kolasib, stated that the campaign was conducted under the guidance of the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India, to promote awareness about these initiatives at the state level.

The PM Awas Mela Urban Housing campaign focused on informing beneficiaries about government schemes, eligibility, and procedures so that citizens could easily access housing benefits. Similarly, under the PM SVANidhi scheme, the Street Vendor Mela aimed to educate urban street vendors about loans, eligibility, and application processes to facilitate timely access to financial support.

The campaign also featured a HELP DESK to assist beneficiaries. Citizens were informed about fund release schedules and installment procedures under PMAY, and street vendors received guidance on applying for PM SVANidhi loans. The HELP DESK enabled attendees to resolve their queries efficiently and receive direct assistance regarding these schemes.
