CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Directs Special Health Camps and Welfare Initiatives
Uttarakhand Government Strengthens Measures for Persons with Disabilities
Dehradun, Sept 2025 : Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized the state government’s commitment to safeguarding the rights, dignity, and welfare of persons with disabilities. Speaking at a meeting of the State Disability Advisory Board held at the Secretariat on Friday, he directed the Health Secretary to organize periodic special health camps across the state specifically for persons with disabilities. These camps will provide medical treatment, assistive devices such as prosthetic limbs, certification, and other essential facilities on the spot.
During the meeting, CM Dhami stressed that ensuring the full and transparent delivery of welfare schemes and programs to persons with disabilities must be a top priority for both the government and administrative officials. He instructed the Social Welfare Secretary to take prompt action on the recommendations and suggestions received during the session. The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of providing full benefits in line with reservation provisions during recruitment for various government services. Additionally, the Social Welfare Department has been tasked with ensuring that all eligible individuals under the Disability Pension and other social security schemes receive 100% of their entitled benefits.
CM Dhami called on all secretaries to closely monitor issues related to persons with disabilities within their departments and ensure the effective implementation of schemes directly addressing their needs. He underscored that persons with disabilities are an integral part of society, and empowering them remains a central focus of the government’s efforts.
Several MLAs and Advisory Board members presented important suggestions during the meeting. The Chief Minister assured that all proposals would be considered positively and addressed promptly. He reiterated that the challenges faced by persons with disabilities are not only administrative concerns but also a humanitarian responsibility, and the state government is working tirelessly to ensure their welfare and inclusion.
The meeting was attended by MLAs Bharat Chaudhary and Savita Kapoor, Secretaries Sridhar Babu Addanki, Ranjit Sinha, Chandresh Kumar, V. Shanmugam, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, Director of Social Welfare Prakash Chandra, and members of the State Disability Advisory Board.
CM Dhami concluded by reaffirming the government’s dedication to empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring they have equal opportunities, support, and access to all welfare initiatives across Uttarakhand.
