Chief Minister Inspects Avdhutwadi Police Station in Yavatmal

Yavatmal, Sept 2025 : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis began his Yavatmal tour with a visit to the Avdhutwadi Police Station in Yavatmal city, where he reviewed the arrangements and functioning of the station.

Accompanying him were Guardian Minister of the district and Minister of Soil and Water Conservation Sanjay Rathod, Tribal Development Minister Dr. Ashok Uike, former minister Madan Yerawar, MLA Raju Todasom, Special Inspector General of Police Ramnath Pokale, District Collector Vikas Meena, Superintendent of Police Kumar Chinta, Zilla Parishad CEO Mandar Patki, former MP Ramdas Tadas, and several other dignitaries.

At the outset, Superintendent of Police Kumar Chinta welcomed the Chief Minister with a sapling and provided an overview of the police station’s activities. On behalf of the police administration, a cheque of ₹27,11,111 was handed over to Chief Minister Fadnavis for the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to aid flood-affected citizens. The Chief Minister also carried out a tree plantation within the police station premises. Additionally, a land allotment document was presented to Sunita Prakash Wihire, wife of a martyred soldier, by the Chief Minister.

Information was given about Operation Prasthan, a special initiative launched by SP Kumar Chinta to address child delinquency, addiction, and the high number of missing minors in Yavatmal district. In the first phase of the initiative, held between April 21 and May 29, 2025, around 1,800 girls participated in residential camps that included karate training, legal awareness sessions, health workshops, and career guidance programs.

During the Chief Minister’s visit, participating girls performed a karate demonstration. The second phase of Operation Prasthan began on July 7, 2025, with the goal of training 30,000 young boys and girls. So far, 3,800 students across 11 schools have been trained, and a total of 5,700 girls have received karate training in the two phases. The third phase of the initiative will focus on tribal residential schools in remote areas and schools in rural sub-divisions.

The National Commission for Women has taken note of Operation Prasthan and recommended that such an initiative be implemented across India. Under this program, youth have also assisted the police during Ganesh Utsav, Durga Utsav, flood management, and traffic regulation duties.
