Water Resources Department to Operate on Mission Mode for NABARD-Funded Projects – Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Deputy Chief Minister and Water Resources Minister Devendra Fadnavis has emphasized the need for the Water Resources Department to operate on mission mode to complete unfinished projects with the assistance of NABARD.

During a meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis highlighted the importance of accelerating work on these projects. Attendees included Revenue Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil, Mitra CEO Praveen Singh Pardeshi, Additional Chief Secretary of Water Resources Dr. Deepak Kapoor, Additional Chief Secretary of Finance O.P. Gupta, Deputy Chief Minister’s Secretary Dr. Shrikar Pardeshi, Finance Department Secretary Shaila A., Water Resources Department Secretary Sanjay Belsare, NABARD General Manager Rashmi Darad, and other senior officials from the Water Resources Department.

Fadnavis stressed the necessity of enhancing the state’s irrigation capacity through financial support from NABARD to complete the Water Resources Department’s incomplete projects. He urged the department to promptly provide NABARD with the necessary information to secure this financial assistance. He also called on the finance department to grant the required approvals.

The meeting revealed that detailed project reports (DPRs) for 30 projects have already been submitted to the Planning Department, and the remaining DPRs will be submitted shortly. Additionally, 37 project repairs and the distribution system repairs for 60 out of 155 completed projects will be undertaken with this financial assistance.

The Deputy Chief Minister underscored that the unfinished projects of the Water Resources Department will indeed be completed with the help of NABARD, reinforcing the need for swift and efficient action.
