PM SVANidhi Scheme Revives Bhanwar Singh’s Grocery Business in Bundi

Jaipur, Oct 2025: “COVID took everything from me—my shop closed, and managing household expenses became extremely difficult. In such challenging times, the PM SVANidhi scheme became a new hope for me,” says Bhanwar Singh, a grocery shop owner from Bundi city, whose life has returned on track thanks to this scheme.

Bhanwar Singh explains that he had been running his grocery store for several years to support his family, but the COVID-19 pandemic hit his business hard, forcing him to close the shop. With the primary source of income gone, his financial situation deteriorated, and the future of his family looked bleak.

During this difficult period, he learned about the PM SVANidhi scheme. He applied for a loan under the scheme and received approval for his first loan quickly. With this financial support, Bhanwar Singh courageously reopened his closed shop. Gradually, his business began to pick up, and his financial condition started improving.

He adds, “The scheme not only provided financial help but also taught us new ways to grow our business.” Shalini Jain, the District Project Officer, provided training and guidance on digital payments. This boosted customer numbers significantly, as clients could now pay conveniently through online methods.

Encouraged by the progress in his business, Bhanwar Singh has taken another step forward. He recently participated in an ‘Urban Service Camp’ and applied for a second loan of ₹25,000 under the scheme to expand his shop further.

Bhanwar Singh emotionally says, “I sincerely thank Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, thanks to whom I am now self-reliant and living my life with dignity once again.”
