Jaipur, Oct 2025 : The Sumanagal–Diwali Fair 2025, organized by the Rural Livelihoods Development Council (Rajeevika), Rural Development Department, Government of Rajasthan, has become a major attraction this year with traditional products, handicrafts, apparel, festive gift items, and food specialties from various districts of Rajasthan.

Held from October 1 to 12 at the Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj Institute, over 70 stalls run by women members of Rajeevika’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are showcasing and selling their products.

The fair highlights a rich variety of eco-friendly and sustainable products. Items such as flower vases, diyas, wall hangings, Radha–Krishna paintings made from cow dung, soft toys and keychains from waste fabric, jute tiffin bags, bottle bags, and folders are attracting visitors, representing rural innovation and environmental conservation.

Rajasthan’s rich textile and apparel heritage is also a key attraction. Cotton-based Rajputi sets, appliqué (cutwork) suits, Bandhani and Ajrak print suits and dupattas, traditional Rajputi attire, woolen shawls and jackets, Pattoo and Bardi shawls, children’s garments, and fabrics like Sanganeri and Bagru prints not only bring tradition to life but also highlight women’s rural entrepreneurship.

Traditional clay crafts such as blue pottery, terracotta, and black pottery are on prominent display, including flower pots, vases, diya stands, Ganesh wall hangings, fountains, handi, coffee–tea cups, matkas, and bottles, showcasing Rajasthan’s folk art and craftsmanship diversity.

This year, festive gift hampers prepared by women SHG members are a major highlight. Available in the range of ₹650 to ₹3,000, these hampers combine traditional art, modern décor, and rural creativity, making them an attractive option for corporate and festive gifting.

The fair also features exhibitions of traditional folk art and paintings, such as Mandala, Mandana, Bani Thani, Pichwai, and hand-painted works, showcasing the artistic finesse and creativity of rural women artists.

A food court offering delicious traditional cuisine provides visitors with a unique rural culinary experience. The fair is seeing a large daily turnout, reflecting growing interest and enthusiasm for rural products.

The Sumanagal–Diwali Fair 2025 continues until October 12, open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj Institute, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, Jaipur.
