State-Level Exhibition on New Criminal Laws to be Inaugurated by Home Minister Amit Shah

Jaipur, Oct : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma visited the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Center (JECC) in Sitapura on Sunday to review preparations for the state-level exhibition on new criminal laws. The exhibition will be inaugurated by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Monday and will continue until 18 October.

The Chief Minister examined preparations for various activities showcasing the provisions of the new criminal laws and their progress in the state. He also reviewed arrangements for the assembly area and provided necessary instructions to officials regarding meetings, drinking water, parking, and other essential facilities. Senior officials, including Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant and Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma, were present.

The exhibition is being organized to mark one year since the implementation (1 July 2024) of the Indian Penal Code, Indian Civil Security Code, and Indian Evidence Act. The inauguration will be attended by Amit Shah, CM Bhajanlal Sharma, Acting Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court Sanjeev Prakash Sharma, and other dignitaries.

During the event, Amit Shah will perform the ground-breaking of MoUs worth ₹4 lakh crore under the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024 and lay the foundation and inaugurate development works worth over ₹9,300 crore. Additionally, ₹260 crore will be distributed for student uniforms, and ₹364 crore for milk subsidies to dairy producers. The program will also see the launch of registrations under the 150-unit free electricity scheme, and a flag-off of vehicles, scooters, and motorcycles for forensic services and women’s safety patrolling.

Special Sessions at the Exhibition

Themed “New Legislation – A New Identity for Justice”, the exhibition will feature digital and interactive presentations of the new legal framework. Special sessions will be held daily:

  • 13 Oct: Technology-focused session on the use of technology in police work.
  • 14 Oct: Forensic science session.
  • 15 Oct: Prison-related session.
  • 16 Oct: Session with legal experts.
  • 17 Oct: Sessions with NGOs on preventing crimes against women and children, police-community relations, and awareness of new laws.
  • 18 Oct: Closing ceremony of the exhibition.

This exhibition aims to educate the public, students, and stakeholders about the new criminal laws and their implementation, while highlighting technological advancements, forensic practices, and judicial reforms.
