On Police Commemoration Day, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis pays tribute to police martyrs

Mumbai, October 2025 : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis paid homage to police martyrs from across the country who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty over the past year. He laid a floral wreath at the Police Memorial located at the Naigaon Police Headquarters to honour their memory.

On this occasion, Mumbai Suburban Guardian Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Director General of Police Rashmi Shukla, Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti, consuls and representatives from various countries stationed in Mumbai, senior police officers, and invited guests also paid their respects at the Police Memorial.

In his message, Chief Minister Fadnavis paid heartfelt tribute to 191 brave police martyrs, including 34 police officers and 157 constables, who laid down their lives across India in the past year. He lauded their unparalleled courage and supreme sacrifice in safeguarding the nation and its citizens.

During the ceremony, after the names of all the martyred police officers and constables were read out, the police band played the ‘Salami Shastra’ (arms salute) tune as a mark of respect. Uniformed officers and personnel presented a ceremonial salute, and the police honoured the martyrs with a three-round gun salute.

Chief Minister Fadnavis also met with dignitaries from India and abroad, senior police officials, and the families of the martyrs present at the event, extending his condolences and expressing deep appreciation for the sacrifices made by their loved ones in service of the nation.
