New Delhi, Oct 2025 : Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with her family and received his blessings. The meeting was cordial and productive, during which she briefed the Prime Minister on Delhi’s development, the Clean Yamuna campaign, and Chhath festival preparations. She added that under Prime Minister Modi’s guidance, the capital is rapidly progressing towards becoming a ‘Viksit Delhi’.
CM Rekha Gupta informed the Prime Minister about the Delhi government’s sustained efforts to make the Yamuna river clean and pollution-free. The Chief Minister emphasised her administration’s full commitment to rejuvenating the Yamuna. Measures include enhancing sewage treatment capacity, using modern wastewater treatment technologies, and strictly monitoring industrial effluents. Additionally, green belts are being developed along the riverbanks, and measures are in place to prevent illegal dumping of waste into the river. The Chief Minister stated that the government’s goal is for the Yamuna to be a clean and life-giving river for Delhi residents in the coming years.
The Chief Minister also briefed the Prime Minister on preparations to make this year’s Chhath festival grand and auspicious. Special ghats for Chhath are being constructed on both banks of the Yamuna, ensuring that all necessary facilities are available for devotees. Arrangements include lighting, cleanliness, drinking water, security, medical assistance, and mobile toilets. Officials from the relevant departments are continuously monitoring the cleanliness of the ghats and water quality to ensure devotees face no inconvenience. She stated that Chhath Mahaparv is a symbol of Indian culture and faith, and the Delhi government aims to ensure the festival is celebrated with devotion, piety, and cleanliness.
During the courtesy meeting, CM Rekha Gupta also briefed the Prime Minister on the ongoing welfare and infrastructure development projects in the capital. She highlighted that the Delhi government is working swiftly in areas such as transportation, education, water supply, and urban redevelopment. New flyovers, underpasses, and connectivity projects are improving traffic management across the capital. Similarly, the expansion of new healthcare facilities and Ayushman Arogya centres is enhancing medical services for citizens. The Chief Minister reiterated that the Delhi government is committed to building a ‘Viksit Delhi’, transforming the capital into a modern, clean, safe, and citizen-friendly city. She described the meeting with the Prime Minister as inspiring for Delhi’s development and public welfare. The Prime Minister assured full support, and the Chief Minister expressed gratitude for his guidance. Delhi is moving steadily towards a new path of development.
