Rajasthan ranks second nationally in ‘Poshan Maah 2025’; DCM Diya Kumari congratulates WCD Department for outstanding performance
Jaipur, Oct 2025: Rajasthan has secured second place at the national level in Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025 (National Nutrition Month 2025), marking another milestone for the state under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Women and Child Development (WCD) Diya Kumari.
After achieving the top position during Rashtriya Poshan Pakhwada and the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, and improving from fourth place in Poshan Maah 2024, Rajasthan has now climbed to the second position nationwide for its exceptional performance in this year’s campaign, held from September 17 to October 16, 2025.
Deputy CM Diya Kumari congratulated the Department of Women and Child Development, especially the Directorate of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), for their exemplary efforts and results.
WCD Secretary Mahendra Soni said that the achievement reflects the state’s effective strategy, strong coordination with district administrations, and the dedication of Anganwadi workers and helpers. According to centre-wise reports, Rajasthan achieved 88,93,346 targets against the set goal of 81,01,730, resulting in an overall success rate of 114.12%.
This performance has made Poshan Maah 2025 a mass movement across Rajasthan, supported by 41 districts and 62,321 Anganwadi centres.
At the national level, Gujarat ranked first with a 115.74% achievement rate, followed by Rajasthan (114.12%) and Chhattisgarh (108.30%).
Widespread Activities Across the State
ICDS Director Vasudev Malawat reaffirmed the department’s commitment to intensify nutrition-related initiatives in the coming months so that Rajasthan can become a malnutrition-free state and serve as a model for the nation.
During Poshan Maah 2025, several activities were organized across the state, including awareness campaigns, community engagement programmes, home visits, nutritious meal distribution, and maternal and child health counselling — all aimed at realizing the goal of “Suposhit Rajasthan”.
Aligned with this year’s national themes, key focus areas included:
- Tackling obesity and promoting healthy lifestyles
- Reducing sugar and oil consumption
- Early childhood care and education (ECCE)
- Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices
- Encouraging male participation in nutrition initiatives
Special emphasis was also laid on ‘Vocal for Local’ and digital reporting and monitoring to enhance efficiency.
The WCD Department expressed gratitude to district officials, Anganwadi workers, helpers, ASHA associates, and local communities whose collective efforts contributed to this success. The department said this achievement is an important step toward realizing the vision of a “Suposhit Bharat, Swasth Bharat” (Nourished India, Healthy India).
Based on entries received up to October 17, 2025, the top five districts in Rajasthan were:
- Jodhpur – 3,37,081 entries (Achievement rate: 134.98%)
- Kota – 2,19,028 entries
- Bikaner – 2,54,243 entries
- Churu – 2,81,533 entries
- Hanumangarh – 2,07,081 entries
These districts not only exceeded their targets but also led innovative and community-driven efforts to spread awareness. Jodhpur emerged as the top-performing district, while Kota, Bikaner, Churu, and Hanumangarh also recorded over 125% achievement rates, underscoring Rajasthan’s growing success in nutrition awareness and implementation.
