Bihar Will Celebrate ‘Real Diwali’ on November 14 When RJD Faces Defeat: Amit Shah in Siwan

Patna, Oct 2025 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), declaring that Bihar will celebrate the “real Diwali” on November 14, the day election results will be announced, predicting a “humiliating defeat” for the RJD and its allies.

Addressing a massive rally in Siwan district, Shah accused the RJD of promoting a culture of lawlessness and nepotism, criticising its decision to field Osama Shahab, son of the late gangster-turned-politician Mohammad Shahabuddin, as the party’s candidate from Raghunathpur.

“The people of Siwan must ensure that Shahabuddin’s son faces a humiliating defeat in these elections,” Shah told the cheering crowd. “For nearly two decades, this land endured Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi’s ‘jungle raj’. Now is the time to end that legacy forever.”

The Home Minister said that under the RJD’s rule, Bihar witnessed an era of “crime, fear, and chaos.” He recounted the crimes allegedly committed by Shahabuddin, describing him as an “A-category history-sheeter” with “around 75 criminal cases, two jail terms, and charges of triple murder and acid attacks.”

“Siwan’s people never surrendered before Shahabuddin’s terror,” Shah said. “Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, even if a hundred Shahabuddins come, they cannot harm the people of Bihar.”

Highlighting the NDA’s candidate from Raghunathpur, a former IPS officer, Shah said the choice reflected the alliance’s commitment to law and order and governance. “This election is not just about votes; it is about restoring Bihar’s dignity and ensuring that the days of fear never return,” he added.

Shah also took a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the opposition’s ‘Bharat’ alliance, which he said was “disintegrating rapidly” in Bihar. Referring to the Congress’s recent ‘Voter Rights Yatra,’ he said, “Rahul Gandhi says infiltrators should stay here. But I assure you, not a single infiltrator will be allowed to remain in Bihar.”

The Home Minister said he had deliberately chosen Siwan for his first election rally in the state. “For twenty years, this land has borne the brunt of anarchy, murders, and corruption under Lalu-Rabri’s jungle raj,” he said. “But the brave people of Siwan did not bow down—they fought back against the tyranny and stood for justice.”

Shah ended his speech on a confident note, saying, “This time, Bihar will light up with the lamps of truth, development, and victory. When the results are declared on November 14, it will be the real Diwali for every honest citizen who wants a prosperous and safe Bihar.”
