Now the Licensing Process Becomes More Transparent and Fair: Driving Tests to Use Modern Technology – Transport Minister Kedar Kashyap
Raipur, Oct 2025 : The licensing process in Chhattisgarh is set to become more transparent and impartial as the state’s Transport Department modernizes the driving test and licensing system to improve driver competence and enhance road safety.
Under the directions of Transport Minister Kedar Kashyap, e-Driving Test Tracks (e-Tracks) are being established in eight districts of the state — Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur, Janjgir-Champa, Jagdalpur, Ambikapur, Raigarh, and Korba.
Driving Tests to Be Fully Digital and Fair
Through these modern e-Tracks, driving tests will now be conducted in a completely digital and transparent manner. The aim is to minimize human interference, ensure fairness in the testing process, and reduce road accidents.
The e-Track system will incorporate technologies related to vehicle control, lane discipline, signaling, speed regulation, and road safety. Digital sensors and cameras installed on the tracks will accurately evaluate an applicant’s driving skills. This will make the licensing process more transparent and impartial, ensuring that only eligible candidates receive their results promptly and fairly.
A Step Toward Smart Transportation in Chhattisgarh
Transport Minister Kedar Kashyap said the initiative would not only enhance road safety but also move Chhattisgarh toward a smart and modern transport infrastructure. “A safe and modern transport system will bring convenience and trust to the lives of people in the state,” he said. “This is a major step toward building a safe, smart, and reliable transportation system in Chhattisgarh.”
Online Application and Digital Feedback
Transport Secretary S. Prakash added that the e-Track system would help certify qualified drivers, thereby promoting responsible driving and reducing accidents. He informed that once operational, applicants in these districts will be able to apply online, book appointments, and take their driving tests through the new system.
After successfully completing the test, candidates will receive digital feedback and their driving licenses will be issued electronically.
The initiative marks a significant leap toward ensuring efficiency, accountability, and transparency in the state’s transport administration — reinforcing the government’s commitment to safer roads and better governance in public services.
