KTR Accuses Congress of Betraying Telangana People, Launches BSR’s ‘Jaitra Yatra’ from Jubilee Hills
BSR Working President slams Revanth Reddy government for unfulfilled promises and rising public burden
Hyderabad, Oct 2025 : Bharata State Rashtra (BSR) Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Saturday launched a blistering attack on the Congress government in Telangana, accusing it of betraying the people’s trust and failing to fulfill its pre-election promises. He declared that the party’s Jaitra Yatra (Victory March) will begin from the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency, signaling the start of an aggressive campaign against the ruling government.
The announcement came during a programme at Telangana Bhavan, where Thota Mahesh Mudiraj, former BJP president of Shaikhpet Mandal under the Jubilee Hills constituency, along with his supporters, formally joined the BSR in the presence of KTR.
Addressing the gathering, KTR said the Congress had “shattered the hopes of the poor” by reneging on the commitments it made before the elections. He contrasted the current administration’s record with that of the previous KCR-led government, which, he said, had implemented several welfare schemes that transformed people’s lives.
“During KCR’s rule, the government provided 20,000 liters of free drinking water, built slum hospitals, distributed ₹5,000 meal allowances, extended pensions, and offered Ramadan gifts. KCR worked wholeheartedly for the welfare of the poor,” KTR said, adding that infrastructure development such as the major flyover at Shaikhpet was evidence of BSR’s commitment to urban progress.
He alleged that the Congress government has not only failed to introduce new welfare initiatives but has also burdened citizens with unpaid dues and broken promises. “The Congress has betrayed everyone — the elderly, farmers, women, and workers,” he charged.
KTR called on the people of Jubilee Hills to resist Congress’s false assurances. “We were deceived once, but it is time to teach them a lesson. Some may fall for tall promises, but we must show them the truth. The Congress promised ₹2,500 per month for every girl turning 18, scooters and a tola of gold at marriage — none of it has materialized,” he said.
Criticizing Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, KTR remarked, “In two years, Revanth hasn’t laid a single new foundation stone. His only job seems to be grabbing the microphone to criticize KCR. Not a single new house has been approved in Hyderabad under this government.”
He also mocked the Congress’s “free travel for women” scheme, claiming it was misleading. “They are giving free bus rides to women but doubling fares for men. They give with one hand and take away with the other,” he said.
Concluding his speech, KTR urged people to hold the Congress accountable for its “guarantee card” promises. “When Congress leaders come to your homes, show them the dues card — remind them of what they owe the people,” he said.
