Programs Across Rajasthan to Mark 150th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda from November 1–15: CM Bhajanlal Sharma

Jaipur, Oct 2025 : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announced that a series of events will be organized across the state from November 1 to 15 to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda under Janjati Gaurav Varsh (Tribal Pride Year). He directed officials to ensure the grand and successful organization of all activities and programs so that Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s inspirational life and message reach every citizen.

Chairing a review meeting at the Chief Minister’s Office regarding the upcoming celebrations, Sharma said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier declared November 15 as Janjati Gaurav Diwas (Tribal Pride Day) to honor Birsa Munda’s contribution to India’s freedom struggle. In continuation of this, a variety of statewide activities and programs will be held between November 1 and 15. He instructed that all concerned departments organize daily events in a coordinated and systematic manner.

Nodal Officers to Be Appointed for Effective Implementation
The Chief Minister said that the programs will include exhibitions of tribal artisans’ products and Van Dhan Centre displays, health camps, tribal cultural events, speech and essay competitions, skill training programs in tribal areas, rural service camps, and various workshops. He directed that nodal officers be appointed for the effective execution of each activity.

Sharma added that a state-level event will be held on November 15 as part of Janjati Gaurav Varsh and issued necessary directions for its preparations. He emphasized coordination and cooperation among all departments, and that preparations be monitored at the secretary level.

The Chief Minister instructed that district collectors, along with local public representatives, ensure the successful execution of these programs in their respective areas. He also encouraged tribal-dominated districts to promote innovative initiatives in collaboration with voluntary organizations and philanthropists (Bhamashahs) and to publish literature highlighting the life and legacy of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

During the meeting, officials gave a detailed presentation on the preparations for the programs scheduled from November 1 to 15.

The meeting was attended by Tribal Regional Development Minister Babulal Kharaḍi, Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, and senior officials from various departments. District Collectors from tribal regions also joined the meeting through video conferencing.
