Rising Madhya Pradesh: A New Era of Investment, Innovation, and Employment

Madhya Pradesh is celebrating its 70th Foundation Day. Founded on November 1, 1956, the state has, over the past two decades, embarked on a new journey of development that has propelled it towards becoming one of India’s leading states. It is a happy coincidence that this year’s Rajyotsav celebrations are being held on the auspicious occasion of Devuthani Ekadashi. Our festivals and traditions are the soul of our culture, and it is through the spirit of celebration that we find inspiration to build the future. I am pleased to share that all festivals are now being celebrated with great enthusiasm and inclusivity. Our cultural heritage continues to inspire the transition from the ancient to the modern.

Madhya Pradesh, the heart of India, is blessed with immense natural resources and cultural heritage, forests, rivers, fertile land, minerals, craftsmanship, art, traditions, and festivals. We are fortunate to be graced by the sacred presence of rivers Narmada, Chambal, Parvati, and Shipra, and the blessings of Lord Mahakal. This land is the birthplace of Lord Parashuram, the seat of learning for Lord Krishna, and the site of Adi Shankaracharya’s meditation. It was here that Lord Ram spent significant time in Chitrakoot, and where great rulers like King Nala, Bhartrihari, and Vikramaditya once reigned. Samrat Vikramaditya liberated India from the tyranny of the Shakas and the world’s first scientific calendar, ‘Vikram Samvat’, originated in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.

It gives me great pride to say that while preserving our historical glory and natural grandeur, Madhya Pradesh is moving steadily from heritage to holistic development. Guided by the vision of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is on its way to becoming one of the world’s top three economies, and Madhya Pradesh is fully aligned with his mission of building a ‘Viksit Bharat’. The theme for this year’s Foundation Day celebrations, ‘Industry and Employment’, reflects our commitment to sustainable growth, cultural prosperity and public participation.

Inspired by our Prime Minister, we are transforming Madhya Pradesh’s investment and industrial potential into tangible outcomes. Every region of our diverse state possesses unique strengths and capabilities. To harness these, we introduced the ‘Regional Investors Summit’, a first-of-its-kind initiative connecting each region’s skills and industries.

Starting from Ujjain in March 2024, we launched an Investment Drive that reached Gwalior, Jabalpur, Sagar, Rewa, Shahdol, Narmadapuram and extended further to Mumbai, Coimbatore, Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi, the UK, Germany, Japan and Dubai. Through national and international roadshows and investor summits, Madhya Pradesh has witnessed a remarkable surge in investment interest.

A robust, simplified, and secure environment has been created for investors. With innovation hubs, a startup policy, funding support, and incubation networks, Madhya Pradesh is emerging as a key driver in India’s startup revolution. Over the past year, the state has achieved several milestones in industrial investment. The Global Investors Summit saw strong participation from both domestic and international investors. The Mineral Conclave alone attracted investment proposals worth over ₹56,000 crore, reflecting the state’s business-friendly mineral policy and transparent governance. Investment is also flowing into IT parks, electronic manufacturing units, and renewable energy.

Madhya Pradesh is undergoing a remarkable transformation powered by investment, innovation and employment. Over the past two years, the state has achieved historic progress in industry, agriculture, dairy, energy, environment, and social empowerment.

Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given the nation the guiding mantra of GYAN — Garib (poor), Yuva (youth), Annadata (farmers), and Nari (women). Inspired by this vision, Madhya Pradesh has launched four key missions — Yuva Shakti Mission, Nari Sashaktikaran Mission, Gareeb Kalyan Mission, and Kisan Kalyan Mission.

Under the Garib Kalyan Mission, efforts are focused on self-employment, housing, education, healthcare, and social security. The Madhya Pradesh Skill Development Mission and Startup Policy 2025 are transforming youth from job seekers to job creators. Through skill-based industry training, job fairs, apprenticeship programs, and digital certification initiatives, thousands of young people are being connected to meaningful employment. Job creation remains our top priority, with stable and dignified opportunities being provided in both the public and private sectors. Madhya Pradesh has also become the first state in India to release a recruitment calendar, ensuring a transparent and time-bound hiring process.

Innovation-led transformation is also reshaping the agricultural sector. Drone-based crop monitoring, smart irrigation systems, and agri-value addition are empowering farmers. Through the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, Mukhyamantri Khet Talab Yojana, and other initiatives, irrigation coverage is continuously expanding. The Ken-Betwa and Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal link projects will provide large-scale irrigation and water availability to farmers. The state’s irrigated area has already surpassed 52 lakh hectares, with a target to double it to 100 lakh hectares within three years.

Direct payments for agricultural produce, online market systems, and promotion of organic farming have significantly increased farmers’ incomes. Madhya Pradesh continues to lead in the production of wheat, soybean, gram, and spices.

The Nari Sashaktikaran Mission is bringing transformative change by linking women’s empowerment with economic self-reliance. The Ladli Behna Yojana has provided financial security to millions of women. Under the Women Entrepreneurship Policy, women are being encouraged to establish small-scale industries in dairy, handicrafts, and services. Women-led self-help groups are being provided with financial support and access to markets. This mission empowers women and lays the foundation for a stronger and more self-reliant India.

To make Gau Dhan, a sustainable pillar of the economy, the state has focused on cow conservation and dairy innovation. Under the Mukhyamantri Gau-Sanvardhan Mission, Gaushalas Gauseva Kendras have been established across the state. In the past two years, Madhya Pradesh has achieved remarkable growth in milk production.

It gives me great satisfaction that, under the guidance of our Prime Minister and with the cooperation of our citizens, we have successfully implemented policies that strengthen welfare and growth. Madhya Pradesh’s continues its journey with the mantra, Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.

A smile on every poor person’s face, prosperity for every farmer, respect for every woman, and a bright future for every youth — this is our commitment and goal. Let us together build Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh and contribute to the making of a Viksit Bharat.

Warm greetings and best wishes to all citizens on the 70th Foundation Day of our beloved Madhya Pradesh.
