Distribution of Tractors and Equipment to Beneficiaries Under the Agricultural Mechanisation Scheme by the Deputy Chief Minister
Farmers Should Focus on Using New Technology in Agriculture: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar
Baramati, Oct 2025 : Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar said that farmers in the state possess great skill and are increasing agricultural production by using advanced technologies. He urged other farmers to learn about such progressive technologies and the transformation they bring in agriculture.
At a programme held at Malegaon Cooperative Sugar Factory, Mr. Pawar distributed tractors and agricultural equipment to 51 selected beneficiaries under the Agricultural Mechanisation Scheme 2025–26 through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bharne, District Superintendent Agriculture Officer Sanjay Kachole, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Tulshiram Chaudhary, Malegaon Cooperative Sugar Factory Vice Chairperson Sangita Kokare, members of the board, representatives of various banks, and dignitaries from different sectors were present.
Mr. Pawar said that Artificial Intelligence (AI) makes decision-making more accurate as it is data-driven. It helps in early detection of crop defects and provides timely information about crop requirements. He added that AI reduces electricity and water consumption and increases agricultural output. Therefore, farmers must adapt to new technologies in this rapidly changing era, and the state government will support them in this direction.
He said the state government has decided to provide ₹32,000 crore to help farmers affected by excessive rainfall. Rain continues in several parts of the state, and damage assessments (panchnamas) are underway. Additional funds will be provided to assist farmers in these regions. A committee has been formed to examine loan waiver measures, and based on its recommendations, the government is set to implement loan waivers by June 30, 2026.
Around 25,000 beneficiaries in Baramati taluka have been selected on the MahaDBT portal, and grants worth ₹35 crore will be provided this year. Similar grants will be distributed across the state. The government has also decided to allocate ₹5,000 crore for increasing farmers’ income and for various schemes.
Beneficiaries across various state schemes are receiving benefits worth nearly ₹1 lakh crore. These include ₹25,000 crore in electricity bill support for 3 HP, 5 HP, and 7.5 HP agricultural pumps; ₹7,500 crore for the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi; ₹45,000 crore for the “Majhi Ladki Bahin” scheme; monthly assistance of ₹2,500 for persons with disabilities; monthly pension of ₹1,500 under the Shravanbal Seva and Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar schemes; 100% free travel for senior citizens above 75 years in all buses; and 50% concession for women travelers.
