During the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the formation of Chhattisgarh, a deeply touching moment unfolded when representatives of the Ramnami community—who lead a life devoted entirely to chanting the name of Lord Ram—had an affectionate meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai shared that just a few hours before the Prime Minister’s arrival in Raipur, the Ramnami community representatives had met him at the Mantralaya. They expressed their strong desire to meet the Prime Minister, and necessary arrangements were made accordingly.

The Chief Minister said that when the Ramnami devotees met Prime Minister Modi during the Silver Jubilee celebrations, they expressed their wish to honor him on the main stage with their traditional mor-mukut (peacock-feather crown). The Prime Minister accepted their request with remarkable simplicity, warmth, and affection—making the moment deeply emotional and inspiring for everyone present.

He added that for the Ramnami community—whose religion is “Ram Naam” and whose very life is devotion to Lord Ram—the word “Ram” inscribed on their bodies is not merely a name but a symbol of dedication, penance, and unshakeable faith. This community offers their body, mind, and entire life at the feet of Lord Ram—this is their spiritual practice.

Chief Minister Sai further stated that the affection displayed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi reflects a unique confluence of devotion and duty.
