Construction of Smart Anganwadis in Villages of Awarded Sarpanches – Minister Aditi Tatkare

Mumbai, Nov 2025 : Under the Smart Anganwadi Scheme, extensive work is underway across the state to make Anganwadis modern, strong, and transparent, ensuring the holistic development of children. Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare said that Smart Anganwadis have been established in the villages of 13 sarpanches who were honoured as Outstanding Sarpanches.

Minister Aditi Tatkare said that Anganwadis in these 13 villages have been upgraded to a smart format. These centres have been equipped with advanced facilities, digital learning tools, and health and nutrition awareness initiatives for children and mothers. She expressed great satisfaction at the completion of this work. Under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme, Anganwadis provide essential services to children in health, nutrition, and pre-primary education. The Smart Anganwadi initiative has enhanced the basic infrastructure of these centres, making education and nutrition services more effective.

Minister Tatkare further said that a Smart Anganwadi is not just about a modern building, but it represents a brighter future for children and mothers. The goal is to transform Anganwadis into model centres by combining modern technology with a sensitive, child-centred approach. This initiative will boost the holistic development of children in rural areas, and work is underway to gradually convert all Anganwadis in the state into smart centres.
