Udaipur Creates History Again, Wins “City with the Best Non-Motorized Transport System” Award at Urban Mobility India Conference 2025

Jaipur, Nov 2025 : Rajasthan has once again showcased its excellence at the national level. At the Urban Mobility India Conference & Expo 2025, Udaipur Smart City Limited was honored with the Award of Excellence in Urban Transport in the category of “City with the Best Non-Motorized Transport System.” This achievement has become a proud moment not just for Udaipur, but for the entire state of Rajasthan.

The award was presented in the distinguished presence of Union Minister for Urban Development Manohar Lal Khattar and Minister of State Tokhan Sahu. Receiving the award on behalf of the Rajasthan Government, the state’s Minister for Urban Development and Local Self Governance, Jhabar Singh Kharra, said that this honor is a recognition of Rajasthan’s collective efforts towards sustainable, green, and people-friendly urban development. He dedicated the award to the entire department and his team.

Minister Kharra added that this achievement is the result of the Rajasthan Government’s visionary policy framework and innovation-driven development approach under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. “When governance is transparent, policies are visionary, and people are involved in the process, development doesn’t remain limited to plans—it becomes a way of life,” he said.

He emphasized that Udaipur is no longer just a tourist city but has become an inspiring example of “smart vision, clean surroundings, and sustainable development.” He said this success belongs to every citizen contributing to building a greener, better-organized, and progressive Rajasthan. With this historic milestone, Rajasthan has once again proven that when intentions are clear and the goal is development, transformation is not just possible—it is inevitable.

Under the Smart City Mission, Udaipur has taken remarkable steps to make urban transport more accessible, eco-friendly, and citizen-centric. With 14.5 km of dedicated cycling tracks in areas like Fatehsagar Lake, Hiran Magri, and Balicha Smart Road, along with docking yards across the city and 400 public bicycles, Udaipur has earned its place among India’s leading green cities.
