CM M.K. Stalin Inaugurates 577 Completed Projects Worth ₹766.53 Crore
Lays Foundation for 103 New Works, Distributes Welfare Aid to 43,993 Beneficiaries
Pudukkottai, Nov 2025: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin today inaugurated a massive set of developmental works in the Pudukkottai district. At a government function held in Keeranur, he inaugurated 577 completed projects constructed at a cost of ₹766.53 crore, laid the foundation stone for 103 new projects worth ₹201.70 crore, and distributed various government welfare benefits valued at ₹341.77 crore to 43,993 beneficiaries.
577 Completed Projects Inaugurated in Pudukkottai
Under the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, a wide range of works were completed across various panchayat areas. These projects were executed under schemes such as:
- 15th Finance Commission Grants
- Kalaignar Urban and Rural Rejuvenation Scheme
- Integrated Child Development Scheme
- Ayothi Thass Welfare Scheme
- Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS)
- Chief Minister’s Rural Infrastructure Development Scheme
- NABARD, Namakku Naame Scheme, Swachh Bharat Mission
- And other departmental programmes
The completed works include:
Rural libraries, community halls, new and renovated roads, drainage works, water supply structures, streetlights, overhead tanks, public toilets, Anganwadi buildings, school upgrades, cremation shelters, bus shelters, desilting works, deep borewells, health infrastructure, public distribution shops, and various amenities.
A total of 555 project works were completed under this department alone at a cost of ₹132.46 crore.
In addition, various projects were completed under:
- Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department—modern gas crematoriums, school infrastructure, and urban development works
- Health Department—new surgical wards, ICU expansions, and health sub-centres
- School Education Department—additional classrooms and sanitation facilities
- Adidravidar Welfare Department—residential quarters
- Labour Welfare Department—welfare facilities for workers
- Energy Department—new transformers, substation upgrades, and power infrastructure improvements worth ₹32.92 crore
- Housing Board—construction of multi-storey residential buildings
- Departments for Specially Abled—rehabilitation centres
Collectively, these amounted to 577 completed projects worth ₹223.06 crore inaugurated today.
Foundation Stone Laid for 103 New Projects
Chief Minister Stalin also laid the foundation for 103 new development projects worth ₹201.70 crore.
Key works include:
- New community halls
- Village panchayat buildings
- School building expansions
- Roads, water supply lines, drainage systems
- Upgraded electricity substations and new substations
- Residential hostels and welfare homes
- Veterinary dispensaries
- Fish landing centre facilities
- New bus stand at Aranthangi worth ₹20.54 crore
- Urban infrastructure improvements such as markets, drainage lines, and public buildings
Educational institutions across more than 25 villages will receive new classrooms, laboratories, drinking water structures, and sanitation facilities.
Welfare Benefits Distributed to 43,993 People
Government welfare assistance worth ₹341.77 crore was distributed to 43,993 beneficiaries across Pudukkottai district. The major benefits include:
- 12,618 beneficiaries receiving homestead pattas
- Employment orders issued to 13 individuals
- 217 people receiving marriage assistance, death benefits, educational aid, and related support
- 3,107 families receiving free house site pattas
- 2,874 Adi Dravidar and tribal families receiving housing pattas
- Assistance for destitute women, differently abled persons, and self-employment schemes including tailoring machines, goats, pushcarts, power tools, xerox machines, and small business kits
- 17,107 beneficiaries receiving financial assistance under women development and livelihood schemes
- 1,101 Sri Lankan Tamil families receiving rehabilitation housing benefits
- 3,105 people receiving cooperative loans for dairy, agriculture, self-help groups, and small enterprises
- 500 families receiving new family ration cards
This large-scale inauguration reflects the Tamil Nadu government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen rural infrastructure, social welfare delivery, education, healthcare, and urban development across Pudukkottai district.
