Meeting on ‘SARDAR@150 UNITY MARCH’

Aizawl, Nov 2025: A meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Aizawl District Deputy Commissioner Er. Lalhriapuia, IAS, to discuss preparations for the upcoming ‘Unity March’ being organized to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of the ‘Iron Man of India,’ Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who was also Independent India’s first Home Minister.

The meeting was convened to coordinate arrangements among the concerned departments for the Unity March, scheduled to be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, in the morning.

According to the plan, the Unity March will be organized by NSS volunteers of Class 8 and above.

• Students participating in the march will be divided into two groups.
• The first group will begin the march from Sikulpuikawn and proceed to Lammual.
• The second group will start from Chanmari corner and also march to Lammual.
  At Lammual, both groups will converge, and a short concluding gathering will be held immediately afterward.

The Unity March will start at 6:30 a.m., and the closing ceremony will be conducted at Lammual at 7:00 a.m.

During today’s meeting, the detailed programme for the ‘Unity March’ was finalized. Various departments were assigned specific responsibilities and tasks to ensure the event is conducted smoothly and successfully.
