Knot Wins Leitlangpui Band Contest 2025

Lunglei, Nov 2025: The final round of the Leitlangpui Band Contest, held last night as part of the ongoing Leitlangpui Music Festival (LMF) 2025 at Kawmzawl, Pukpui, Lunglei, concluded with Knot from Aizawl emerging as the champion.

A total of 29 bands registered for the competition, including eight bands (28%) from outside Mizoram, setting a new record for the highest participation from other states. This milestone reflects the growing regional interest and expanding visibility of Mizoram’s vibrant music culture.

Participants initially submitted video entries, from which judges shortlisted the Top 12 bands. The Top 12 featured:

• Seven bands from Mizoram: Abstract Analogy, Knot, QR Code, Revenge of Ancestor, Take 5, Terat, and Zo Par
• Two from Assam: Ambush and Maestro
• Two from Meghalaya: Bending Waves and Strange Origin
• One from Nagaland: Nova District

Out of these, seven bands competed live in the grand finale on 14 November 2025 at Kawmzawl.

Knot secured first place, followed by Terat of Aizawl in second, and Abstract Analogy of Lunglei in third.

The winners of the Lunglei Band Contest 2025 received cash prizes of:

• ₹3 lakh for first place
• ₹1 lakh for second place
• ₹50,000 for third place

Additionally, individual awards were presented:

• Best Vocalist: Daniel (Terat)
• Best Guitarist: James (Abstract Analogy)
• Best Drummer: Samuel (Knot)
• Best Bassist: Jitu (Ambush)
• Best Keyboardist: George (Knot)
