Raipur, Nov 2025 : Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao today inaugurated Atal Complexes in Balod and Doundilohara. He also inaugurated tap-water supply schemes in villages of Gurur, Gunderdehi, and Doundilohara blocks under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Shri Sao performed the Bhoomi Pujan for the Nalanda Complex in Balod and for the Water Treatment Plant under the AMRUT Mission in Doundilohara. He announced ₹4 crore for the development of Balod city. He also announced the construction of a divider from Tandula River Bridge to the Sub-Jail in Balod, and road construction from Balod to Lohara and from Jagannathpur to Parsoda. MLA Smt. Sangeeta Sinha and Smt. Anila Bhediya were also present at the programme.
Shri Sao inaugurated the Atal Complex and single-village tap-water schemes in villages Sonaidongri and Mudkhusra of Gurur block, and Bhothipar and Khallari of Gunderdehi block, under the Jal Jeevan Mission. He inaugurated the Atal Complex in Doundilohara Nagar Panchayat and tap-water schemes in Dumargucha, Bade Jungera, and Madiya Katta villages. He also performed Bhoomi Pujan for the AMRUT Mission 2.0 water supply scheme and the construction of a model Anganwadi building. He distributed completion certificates and house keys to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and congratulated them. He also felicitated talented sportspersons from Balod.
In Doundilohara Nagar Panchayat, Shri Sao announced ₹3 crore for basic development works and ₹30 lakh for the construction of a crematorium. He announced ₹2 crore and ₹20 lakh respectively for basic works and crematorium construction in Dondi Nagar Panchayat. He further announced ₹2 crore for basic development works in Chikhlakasa Nagar Panchayat, ₹3 crore for basic works, and ₹50 lakh for a crematorium in Dalli Rajhara Municipality. He instructed the chairpersons of Dalli Rajhara and both Nagar Panchayats to submit proposals at the earliest. Responding to public representatives’ demands, he assured appropriate action for constructing a rest house in Sambalpur village of the Doundilohara block.
Addressing the gatherings in Balod and Doundilohara, Shri Sao said that former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee made an immensely significant contribution to the creation and development of Chhattisgarh. He not only gifted the new state to its citizens but also established AIIMS in Raipur, the High Court and Railway Zone in Bilaspur, and laid a strong road network in rural and urban Chhattisgarh through the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and Bharatmala Project.
Shri Sao said that he has always had deep affection and attachment to Balod district. The government will leave no stone unturned in developing Balod city and the entire district. Balod will be developed to reflect the dignity befitting a district headquarters.
