Indian-Born Female Cheetah ‘Mukhi’ Gives Birth to Five Cubs
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed his happiness and congratulated after the Indian-born female cheetah Mukhi gave birth to five cubs at the Kuno National Park in Sheopur. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav confirmed that both the mother and the cubs are healthy. He stated that this is an unprecedented achievement for India’s cheetah reintroduction initiative. At 33 months of age, Mukhi has become the first Indian-born female cheetah to give birth, marking a historic milestone for Project Cheetah. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasised that this success is a strong indicator of the cheetah species’ adaptation, health and long-term prospects in Indian habitats. He stated that this achievement is a crucial step towards establishing a self-sustaining and genetically diverse cheetah population in India. It will further encourage ongoing efforts to achieve the nation’s biodiversity conservation goals.
