FIFA World Cup 2026 – A Synopsis till the Final Draw on 05th December, 2025.

After a frantic and dramatic week of qualifying, the final draw for the FIFA World Cup 26 is now looming large on the horizon. Here, FIFA brings you all the key details about that eagerly awaited milestone on the road to next year’s finals.

• The final draw will take place at Friday, 05th December 2025 at 12:00 Eastern Time (18:00 CET, 17:00 GMT).
• The final draw will be hosted at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.

• The following 42 nations will be represented in the final draw:

Co-hosts: Canada, Mexico, USA

AFC: Australia, IR Iran, Japan, Jordan, Korea Republic, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan

CAF: Algeria, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, South Africa, Tunisia

Concacaf: Curaçao, Haiti, Panama

CONMEBOL: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay

OFC: New Zealand

UEFA: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, England, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland.

• 06 of the 48 teams at FIFA World Cup 26 have yet to be determined, and will only be known in March 2026.

• 04 will come from the 16-team UEFA play-offs, which will be contested by Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czechia, Denmark, Italy, Kosovo, Northern Ireland, North Macedonia, Poland, Republic of Ireland, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden, Türkiye, Ukraine and Wales.

• The other 02 spots will be contested by 06 teams – Bolivia, Congo DR, Iraq, Jamaica, New Caledonia and Suriname at the FIFA World Cup 26 Play-Off Tournament.

Qualification places –

• AFC: 08 direct spots + 01 Play-Off Tournament place.
• CAF: 09 direct spots + 01 Play-Off Tournament place.
• Concacaf: 06 direct spots + 02 Play-Off Tournament places.
• CONMEBOL: 06 direct spots + 01 Play-Off Tournament place.
• OFC: 01 direct spot + 01 Play-Off Tournament place.
• UEFA: 16 direct spots.
