Ganj Basoda Advancing on a Heritage-Driven Path of Development: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav highlighted that Vidisha district has historically been a center of Nationalism, khown by contributions of Rajmata Scindia, former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj. Today, this region plays a significant role in agriculture, industry and trade. Ganjbasoda, with its rich heritage, is advancing rapidly on the path of development. He stated that under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the state government is committed to the welfare of the poor, farmers, youth and women. Inspired by the principles of Sanatan culture,’Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, Sarve Santu Niramayah’ and ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, the government works with a commitment to everyone’s welfare. The goal is to ensure that every individual benefits from welfare Yojanas and development activities.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav made these remarks while addressing the inauguration of the newly built civil hospital and other development projects in Ganjbasoda, Vidisha. Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj
Singh Chouhan and Animal Husbandry & Dairy Minister (Independent Charge) Shri Lakhan Patel were present. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced the establishment of a college in Tyoda, the conversion of Gyaraspur into a municipal council, the expansion of Ganjbasoda Municipality’s boundaries, and the commencement of nursing and paramedical colleges in Ganjbasoda.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that numerous initiatives are being undertaken for the welfare of farmers, women and youth. The ‘River Linking Campaign’ aims to increase irrigation coverage and provide water to every field. Through the Bhavantar Yojana, farmers are receiving fair prices directly to their bank accounts, including for soybeans. Wheat procurement has been set at Rs. 2,600 per quintal. For women’s empowerment, the Ladli Behna Yojana’s monthly support has been raised to Rs. 1,500. The Nari Shakti Yojana ensures women working in industries receive Rs. 5,000 per month. The government is committed to connecting every youth with employment opportunities to secure a better future for them.
Inauguration and Bhoomi Poojan of Rs. 150 Crore Projects
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced a package of 54 development projects worth Rs. 150 crore for Basoda. This includes the inauguration of a 150-bed new civil hospital built at a cost of Rs. 32.42 crore. He also opened a bridge over the Jamandhar river (Rs. 4 crore), various roads (Rs. 13.21 crore), a 04 KV transformer at the substation (Rs. 3 crore), drinking water Yojanas in 11 villages (Rs. 8 crore), a sub-jail barrack for 40 inmates (Rs. 1.5 crore), and CHO accommodations with three sub-health centers (Rs. 1.79 crore). Bhoomi Poojan for 28 development projects worth Rs. 85.84 crore was also conducted.
Commitment to Comprehensive Progress: Union Minister Shri Chouhan
Union Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan affirmed that no effort will be spared in advancing the development of Madhya Pradesh. He stated that the central and state
governments will work together to further accelerate the state’s progress.. With advances in agriculture, industry, health, irrigation, roads, drinking water and growing job opportunities, Madhya Pradesh is scripting a new chapter in its progress. He credited Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav for continuously driving these efforts and expressed his deep connection to Vidisha and Basoda, pledging every possible support for their progress.
Minister Shri Chouhan said his appointment as the Union Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development by Prime Minister Modi is being fulfilled diligently. Linking agriculture with horticulture and animal husbandry will open new horizons for growth. He proposed connecting the Betwa river water to the Parashari river and highlighted the region’s potential, given its mineral-rich soils and opportunities for industrial growth. He concluded that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India is becoming powerful and prosperous, with many steps being taken for farmers’ progress. He urged everyone to use and promote indigenous products and called for collective action in the anti-addiction campaign. He also commended ongoing efforts for women’s empowerment in the state.

Grand Welcome for CM Dr. Yadav and Union Agriculture Minister Shri Chauhan in Road Show
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan received a grand welcome during the ‘Road Show’ in Basoda. Local residents, social and religious organisations, and a large
gathering of citizens showered flowers to express their warm hospitality. During the road show, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav greeted the people of the town and thanked them for their overwhelming love and affection.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and Union Agriculture Minister Chouhan rode on a chariot from Dharmkanta in Basoda to the Government SGS College. Local residents danced to the beats of drums and dapli, accompanied by performances from dance artists.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was warmly welcomed by citizens, who also presented him with an image of Baba Shri Mahakal. At various locations, commemorative gifts such as maces, tridents, swords and other souvenirs depicting the history and tourist attractions of Basoda town and Vidisha district were also presented.
