CM Flags Off 68 Youth for Unity March to Statue of Unity
Raipur, Nov 2025 : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today flagged off a team of 68 youth from Chhattisgarh who will travel to Gujarat to participate in the nationwide foot march being organised to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The delegation was flagged off from the office of the Chhattisgarh State Youth Commission in Raipur. These young participants will join the national-level padayatra from Sardar Patel’s karmabhoomi, Karamsad, to the Statue of Unity in Kevadia.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel unified 562 princely states and territories under British rule to lay the foundation of an undivided India. His strong willpower, unwavering determination, and tireless efforts wove India together as one nation.
The Chief Minister recalled his recent visit to Kevadia, Gujarat, where he participated in the Bharat Parv celebrations and visited the world’s tallest statue—the Statue of Unity. He said that the event showcased India’s vibrant cultural unity and also highlighted Chhattisgarh’s rich heritage, diversity, and cuisine.
Shri Sai further said that representatives from across the country, along with youth from Chhattisgarh, will join the Unity March to be held from November 26 to December 6, which is a matter of immense pride for the entire state.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao said that Sardar Patel’s contribution to integrating India’s cultural and geographical identity is incomparable. His historic achievement of merging princely states forms the very base of India’s unity and integrity. He extended his greetings and best wishes to the selected youth for participating in the national padayatra.
Jagdalpur MLA Shri Kiran Singh Deo addressed the youth, wishing them a bright future and congratulating them for being part of the march.
The event was attended by Raipur District Panchayat President Shri Naveen Agrawal, former MLA Shri Naveen Markandeya, Shri G. Venkata Rao, Shri Shyam Narang, Shri Rahul Tikariya, Secretary of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department Shri Yashwant Kumar, along with a large number of youth, officers, and officials.
