CM Flags Off Yamuna Flow Journey under Sardar@150 — Youth Should Prioritize ‘Nation First’ Inspired by Sardar Patel

Iron Man United the Nation through Vision and Courage; Sardar Patel’s 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrated Nationwide — CM Bhajanlal Sharma

Jaipur, Nov 2025 : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that the Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, played a crucial role in nation-building by uniting India with his farsighted vision, strong willpower, and bold decisions. He urged the youth to draw inspiration from Sardar Patel’s life, keep the spirit of ‘Nation First’ above all, and contribute to building a strong, united, and developed India. Extending greetings on Constitution Day, he said Dr. B.R. Ambedkar gave India the world’s largest Constitution, which continues to guide the nation’s progress.

The Chief Minister was addressing a ceremony held on Wednesday at Amar Jawan Jyoti as part of the Sardar@150 Unity March under the Yamuna Flow Journey initiative. He said that under the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary is being celebrated across the country. The Yamuna Flow Journey is also being carried out as a part of these celebrations. He informed that youth from Rajasthan and several other states will participate in the journey from Jaipur to Kamarsad. This initiative will give young participants a close understanding of Sardar Patel’s life, struggles, and patriotism, as well as firsthand experience of his ideals and values.

Sardar Patel Never Compromised on His Principles

The Chief Minister said that Sardar Patel made an invaluable contribution to the freedom movement. His prominent role in the Bardoli Satyagraha earned him the title of ‘Sardar’. He actively participated in the freedom struggle, taught farmers to fight for their rights, and even went to jail. Yet, he never compromised on his principles.

Diplomacy and Vision United 562 Princely States

Sharma said that although India gained independence on 15 August 1947, it also faced the pain of partition. At that time, the country was divided into hundreds of princely states. Sardar Patel used diplomacy, foresight, and when needed, firmness to integrate all these states into India. Operation Polo brought Hyderabad into the Indian Union, and a referendum ensured the merger of Junagadh. National unity and integrity were his greatest mission, and he accomplished it with unmatched conviction.

Abolition of Article 370 Fulfilled Patel’s Unfinished Dream

The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister has taken forward Sardar Patel’s legacy. By abrogating Article 370 in Kashmir, he fulfilled Patel’s long-standing dream. Today, under the Prime Minister’s leadership, India is becoming more united—from east to west and north to south. As a tribute to Sardar Patel, the world’s tallest statue, the Statue of Unity, was built. Since 2014, India has witnessed revolutionary progress in welfare schemes, development programmes, elimination of terrorism and Naxalism, and rising global stature. The world now looks toward India with hope, and the nation is achieving new heights under the leadership of one of the world’s foremost leaders.

Sharma said that Sardar Patel’s life is an inspiration for youth and every Indian. The younger generation can learn five key values from him—dedication to duty, honesty and integrity, determination, unity, and simplicity.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister flagged off the Yamuna Flow Journey under the Sardar@150 Unity March. Earlier, he paid floral tribute at Amar Jawan Jyoti to honor the martyrs.

Several dignitaries, including MP Madan Rathore, Manju Sharma, MLAs Kalicharan Saraf, Jitendra Gothwal, Gopal Sharma, Balmukundacharya, and a large number of people were present.
