Promote Sex-Sorted Semen Scheme Widely; All Staff to Be Linked to HRMS: Animal Husbandry Dept. Review

Animal Husbandry Department Meeting: Wide Promotion of Sex-Sorted Semen Scheme –
Secretary Directs Linking All Staff to HRMS (Human Resource Management System)

Jaipur, Nov 2025 : A key review meeting of the Animal Husbandry, Dairy, and Fisheries Department was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Dr. Samit Sharma, Secretary, in his office at the Secretariat. The meeting focused on the progress of departmental schemes and detailed discussions on upcoming action plans. Dr. Sharma emphasized providing livestock owners with timely and high-quality services, noting the state government’s commitment to increasing their income and enhancing access to modern animal husbandry services.

All Department Personnel Must Be Linked to HRMS

Dr. Sharma stated that in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of transforming India into a digital nation, the Animal Husbandry Department is also working towards technological empowerment and simplifying all services through online platforms. He instructed that all department personnel must be integrated into the HRMS (Human Resource Management System), with continuous monitoring of their work plans and progress. He directed officials to make serious efforts toward complete departmental digitalization.

Extensive Promotion of the Sex-Sorted Semen Scheme Across the State

Discussing the use of sex-sorted semen technology, Dr. Sharma said it is a revolutionary step in the field of animal husbandry that will offer fourfold benefits to livestock owners. He stressed the need for widespread promotion of the scheme so that all livestock owners become aware of its advantages and can fully benefit from it. He informed that the state will receive 10 lakh doses of sex-sorted semen by February, and planning for its distribution must begin immediately to ensure timely utilization. He also highlighted the importance of maintaining proper cold chain systems for preserving doses.

Dr. Sharma added that in the coming days, all artificial insemination (AI) procedures will be done through sex-sorted semen, requiring special training for Livestock Inspectors to ensure accurate implementation. He also directed that data related to AI be recorded in the Pashudhan mobile application.

Monitoring of Expenditure and Timely Utilization of Funds

Dr. Sharma instructed officials to closely monitor departmental expenditure and ensure appropriate and timely use of funds received from the central and state governments. He also directed officials to clear all pending Legislative Assembly questions.

Animal Husbandry Director Dr. Anand Sejra provided updates on the Eye Hospital, Animal Prosthetic Centre, and pet shop registrations. Out of 128 applications received so far, 88 pet shops have been registered.

The meeting was attended by Joint Secretary Dinesh Kumar Jangid, Financial Advisor Dr. Virendra, Additional Directors Dr. Suresh Meena, Dr. Vikas Sharma, Dr. Omprakash Bunkar, Dr. Hemant Pant, and other officials.
