“Vande Mataram Gallery” Inaugurated in Rajasthan Assembly, Symbolizing Collective Spirit of Independence

Jaipur, Nov 2025 : Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Speaker Shri Vasudev Devanani said that the country’s Constitution is safe. There is no kind of threat to it. He said that the Constitution is the soul, future, and present of India. In the world, India’s Constitution is the only strong Constitution through which the transfer of power happens peacefully. This is the greatest feature of the Indian Constitution. Shri Devanani said that Vande Mataram is not just a song; it is a powerful symbol of dedication to the motherland, resistance against colonial oppression, and the collective consciousness of independence. Over time, this song has become an inspiring force of India’s freedom struggle in public gatherings and cultural events.

Shri Devanani said that Rajasthan Legislative Assembly may be the only assembly in the country where a Vande Mataram Gallery has been constructed. He was addressing the youth dialogue program organized on Constitution Day on Wednesday in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. Shri Devanani inaugurated the program by lighting a lamp. On this occasion, he inaugurated the Vande Mataram Gallery in the Assembly’s digital museum, created on his initiative. On the occasion of the 150th year of Vande Mataram, the historical aspects of the national song have been displayed through pictures, in line with Shri Devanani’s vision and planning. It is noteworthy that last year, on Constitution Day, Shri Devanani had inaugurated the Constitution Gallery in the Assembly’s Political Narrative Museum, and the Shaurya Vatika was also established within the Assembly premises.

Youth Should Adopt It as a Way of Life

Shri Devanani said that Constitution Day is a historic festival that enlightens national consciousness. He said it is not just a remembrance day but a day of living resolve, pledge, and commitment. It is a day that strengthens the values of justice, freedom, equality, and fraternity. Shri Devanani called upon the youth to imbibe the values of the Constitution. Only by adopting these values in their lifestyle can the younger generation truly honor the Constitution makers. He said that the nation is supreme; if the nation exists, we exist. Maintain faith and respect for the country. Live for the nation. Demand rights but do not avoid responsibilities. Work for national interest with full capacity. India is a great power of the world. India is the guru of the world. All this is possible because of the Indian Constitution.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Jogaram Patel said that justice is the core spirit of the Constitution. Justice should be accessible to all. One should believe in the justice system, follow it personally, and then guide others. Leader of the Opposition Shri Tikaram Juli said that every citizen is responsible for strengthening the Constitution. Additional Advocate General Shri G.S. Gill said the Constitution represents the sentiment of the nation’s people.

Vande Mataram Gallery

Speaker Shri Devanani said that the gallery includes 37 panels detailing the history of Vande Mataram and important related information. He said that on Akshaya Navami in 1875, Vande Mataram was composed by Bankim Chandra in Lalgola, Murshidabad, West Bengal, in Sanskritized Bengali. The gallery includes images of the original song and other information useful for the public, youth, researchers, and students.

An Inspirational Initiative for the People

Shri Devanani said that the Vande Mataram Gallery at the Political Narrative Museum in the Rajasthan Assembly is an inspirational initiative that presents the history of the Indian freedom movement and national consciousness in a new perspective. The gallery reflects the original essence of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s “Vande Mataram,” highlighting the Swadeshi movement, popular movements, and the role of revolutionaries. The gallery showcases the song’s original lines, manuscript replicas, and the political-cultural context of the time. Visitors can experience the emotions of the freedom struggle era. Rare photographs, letters, speeches, and video material related to the song and movement are also included.

Shri Devanani said that the purpose of the Vande Mataram Gallery is to send a message to the new generation that love for the motherland, duty, and constitutional dedication are the greatest strengths of Indian democracy. The gallery, combining history, culture, and parliamentary values, will further enrich the dignity of the Rajasthan Assembly.
