No one will be deprived of treatment due to poverty: Health Minister Arti Singh Rao

Chandigarh, Dec 2025 – Haryana Health Minister, Ms. Arti Singh Rao said that no person will now be deprived of medical treatment due to poverty. For the convenience of the public, special surgical camps were organised in all districts of the state from November 17 to November 22, 2025, with the aim of providing advanced medical care to the needy without any financial constraints.

The Health Minister said that during the week-long camps, a total of 3,939 operations were performed by specialist doctors across the state, including 3,114 major operations and 825 minor operations.

She said that the major operations performed during the camps included 1,241cataract surgeries, 503 caesarean sections, 366 female tubectomy surgeries, 130 gall bladder surgeries through laparoscopy, 92 ear surgeries, 88 hernia surgeries, 25 knee replacement (TKR) surgeries, and 11 hip replacement (THR) surgeries.

She further said that financial assistance was also provided to patients through various public welfare schemes during the special camps. A total of 2,074 patients benefited under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana’, while 661 patients received treatment under the ‘Chirayu Scheme’.

Health Minister, Ms. Arti Singh Rao said that the state government is committed to ensuring quality healthcare for every citizen. These special surgical camps prove that economic conditions will not be allowed to become a barrier to the right to treatment. The success of these camps encourages the government to further strengthen healthcare services in the coming time.

The Health Minister also thanked all doctors, healthcare workers, and the district administration for their dedicated efforts and cooperation.
