Renaming of Government Industrial Training Institute
Nagpur, Dec 2025 : Some orthodox people once drowned the sacred verses (Gatha) of Sant Tukaram Maharaj in water, but it was Sant Jagnade Maharaj who saved those verses and carried the thoughts of Sant Tukaram Maharaj to the common people, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
He was speaking while guiding the audience at a programme organised on the occasion of renaming the Government Industrial Training Institute at Ramdaspeth under the Skill Development Department after Sant Jagnade Maharaj. Skill Development Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha presided over the programme. Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, MLA Krishna Khopde, and former MP Ramdas Tadas were present as special guests on the occasion.
Stating that the Bhakti movement and the Warkari tradition are the identity of Maharashtra, Chief Minister Fadnavis said that the Warkari sect eliminated the feelings of high and low and united the entire Maharashtra. In this tradition, the contribution of Sant Jagnade Maharaj is extremely significant. He awakened humanity in society, the Chief Minister said. He also praised the initiative of naming Government Industrial Training Institutes in the state after great personalities.
On the arrival of the Chief Minister at the venue, he was welcomed with a traditional aarti (ritual of welcome). On this occasion, female students of the institute presented a Lezim dance. Students dressed in the attire of Sant Jagnade Maharaj attracted everyone’s attention.
