CM Reviews Revenue Departments, Calls for Target-Based Plans and Strict Action on Overloading & Illegal Liquor
Jaipur, December 2025 : Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma emphasized that the state government is fully committed to the all-round development of Rajasthan and the welfare of all sections of society. Various development projects and welfare schemes are being implemented in this direction. He stated that revenue plays a crucial role in realizing development projects and ensuring smooth implementation of welfare schemes. The CM directed officials of the concerned departments to work dedicatedly to achieve the revenue target for the financial year 2025-26.
On Monday, CM Sharma chaired a review meeting of the Excise, Transport, Commercial Tax, and Registration & Stamps Departments at the Chief Minister’s Office. The meeting revealed that the revenue target for FY 2025-26 was set at ₹1,69,627 crore, and by November, ₹84,746 crore had already been collected. The CM instructed officials to prepare target-based action plans for revenue growth in the upcoming quarter.
Ensure GST Rate Reductions Benefit Consumers:
During the review of the Commercial Tax Department, CM Sharma stated that GST reforms by the central government have provided significant relief to citizens of the country and the state. He stressed that the reduction in GST rates must directly benefit consumers. The CM directed a special campaign against fraudulent taxpayers and instructed the development of a strict monitoring system to prevent tax evasion and ensure transparent taxation.
New Bus Permits for Public Transport:
The CM instructed the Transport Department to issue as many permits as possible for new buses to improve public transport while increasing state revenue. He also directed strict action against overloading, noting that overloaded vehicles are unsafe and cause revenue loss to the state.
Effective Action Against Illegal Liquor:
CM Sharma asked the Excise Department to coordinate with the police and enhance monitoring in border areas to stop the transport of illegal liquor from other states. He also directed effective measures to curb the sale of illegal alcohol within Rajasthan. Additionally, the Registration & Stamps Department was instructed to simplify property registration procedures and provide maximum relief to citizens.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary V. Srinivas and senior officials of the concerned departments.
